"The eldest I assume? I forget her name, I only remembered Queen Saella's. Will your grace wed her?" he asked, rather bluntly. Aaron had known Selwyn for nearly two decades, and had squired under the prince for five years, as well as being first cousins, so he felt comfortable speaking candidly to a man who many thought of as King.

Selwyn's face became as hard as stone, "Once or twice." He paused and asked, "Is there anything else?" "No," she said, annoyed that he'd dare speak to her that way. "One day I'd be interested in knowing more about your life together, but not now." She turned and walked out the tent.

"I will." Selwyn replied. "Well congratulations, I suppose," Aaron said with a frown, thinking of the Lady Joanna. "In what part of the army could your grace have best use of my men and I? Only fifty of my knights remain; all men who were injured south of the Wall. I would not say I am eager to get back into battle, but I do not wish to do any dishonor to the Vale or my House."

Selwyn shook his head, "No trouble. There is a raid commanded by Lord Greyjoy and Tully. They will attempt a landing in the Vale. Go with them, and guide them through. Their goal is Thatcher."

An ugly look crossed the young valeman's face at the former Hand's name.
"Aye, your grace, I will guide them through the mountains to the traitor's lair, and see what Valemen I can muster to bolster their ranks on the way. White Harbor to Gulltown would be easiest, if both ports are intact..." Aaron's voice drifted off quietly, and he was quickly muttering to himself about logistics and the different mountain trails.
He looked up suddenly, as if coming out of a daze, and then smiled sheepishly at the King. It was a childhood habit he'd never lost, which was often mistaken for rudeness when really he was just too deep in thought to notice whose company he was in.
"I'll have my men join with Lord Greyjoy, and put ourselves under his command, your grace," he said, turning to leave.
