I decided to make an official thread so you guys can know what I'm up to.
I have currently created a list of houses and their house size, as well as the troop numbers for each house size of the regions. I am working on incomes, upkeeps, and all the other money-related stuff.
I have a three day weekend, so I should be able to get the economy finished up and posted up for everybody.

If you give me your email address I'd give you Roland's House list with troops, incomes, and taxes due.

What do you guys think? If you have any complaints or suggestions or question, say them here so I can make any changes necessary. Also state any other options you want included, such as building up your economy or building up infrastructure.
This is the basic format for the economy, it'll be this that is updated to included different options for castle running, infrastructure, etc.

At least one problem I see off the bat, is that at present our rules do not impart any significance to "heavy" or "light" troops. Why should I pay more to raise "Heavy Levys" when in battle 100 "heavy" versus 100 "light" is accorded no difference?

That is one thing that I have meant to talk to the Admins about, but I never really got a response so I just let it sit. I would hope for a bonus increase for Heavy Levies in battles, for the fact that they are the trained soldiers, while Light Levies are just peasants carrying pitchforks.

That would just make this game ten times more complicated, and half as fun, imo. Simple is better

The council would kick it around. I'm not really sure how to make it work, the Battle system is a little haphazard as it is.

Some small details: House Royce of Runstone are the LPs of the Vale, House Arryn of the Eyrie would probably be a major house.
On the Iron Islands, I wouldn't call Houses Kenning, Volmark and Grejoy moderate houses, as they don't have substantial holdings. Houses Saltcliffe, Botley and Merlyn would act as better replacements

That would just make this game ten times more complicated, and half as fun, imo. Simple is better That is the reason why it is in excel-- Nearly all the calculations are already done for you, so that you can just plug the numbers in, to reduce complexity. No need to crunch how much you stewardship or finances skill increase your income, because the sheet does it for you, as well as how much troops are going to cost to raise for a short time, or keep raised. And thanks Drowny, I don't know a whole lot about the Vale or Iron Islands, so I winged it And Justin, I know it would make battles harder to roll, but the point of the economy is to give you more options. Also, Roland had about 10 troop types... So yeah, imagine rolling that. I don't propose you split the heavy and light levies apart and roll them separately-- just at the beginning, find the percent of heavy levies out of the total troops, and then take that percentage and make it a number, and that would be the bonus for that army for the rest of the battle. You wouldn't have to necessarily make it overly complicated. *And just so everybody knows, the cells where all the information is at are locked, to prevent you messing around with them and accidentally messing up your equations. If you need the password to unlock the cells, just PM me

Suggestion for Crownlands: Demote Barclay from major to greater as per recent event. Both Dragonstone and King's Landing are pretty notable omissions from this region as well, I'm not sure what you're planning to do with them.
Would players be responsible for keeping their own balance, or would admins do that?

Suggestion not entirely in self-interest: I'm of the opinion that the Islands should have a better heavy-to-light troop ratio, given that most Ironborn do have some experience reaving and raiding, and are far from being 'peasants with pitchforks'.

They also have virtually no knights and cavalry. I think it balances out.

I didn't suggest taking Roland's troop types. That would only work if we had adopted his battle system also. I had suggested earlier simply making a single unit (Troops) for account purposes.
