My impression is that the Lannisters retained control of Tarbeck and Castermere, because they are able to offer Castemere to the Westerlings for their part in the betrayal. Obviously you can't give away something you don't own. Ah good point. That settles that then.

Yes, House Lefford would probably have lots of fame, but the House itself wouldn't be any more powerful.

Man, I still miss Goldie... For old times sake, how wealthy did he leave House Frey with his owning a quarter of Dorne and shipping agreement with Pentos and Legendary Finances and altering Westerosi trade policies to his own end and...? ...Lefford seems so pitiful now.

I doubt Dorne kept any of those promises they have a nasty habit of killing anyone that doesn't suit them.
