Maekar and Anni's room

[Marie]

"Of course. Maekar, do you believe it's alright to do bad things so long as the end result is favourable?"

[Fel]

He cocked his head to the side at his sister. "I believe that depends on how 'bad things' are defined, Joanna."

[Marie]

"Well, things like hurting or killing other people."

[Fel]

Maekar frowned, "protecting a person from pain or death is not something I would place importance on over all else, Joanna, nor do I think that doing so would make me a more honourable person."

"Is there a reason for this line of questioning?"

[Marie]

"Yes. Would you kill someone without taking their case before the King if you believed they had committed a crime and believed they might be let off if they were put on trial?"

[Fel]

"No, my job is to enforce the king's mandate, not create my own."

[Marie]

"Well, there's a relief," she said. "A little bird told me that you believed you had the right to enforce justice regardless of law."

[Fel]

Maekar's eyes narrowed.

"What exactly is this about, Joanna?"

[Marie]

"Maekar, you have been accused of both murder and attempted murder. My man Benjen Blackfyre and Albar Stone are here to ensure that you do not attempt to flee until I have said my piece."

She indicated the two knights standing behind her.

"Albar, guard the door. Benjen, stay beside me. Well, Maekar, what do you have to say for yourself?"

[Helyn Caron]

Anni walked through the door removing her cloak. She stopped dead in her track. 'Your grace.' She said not expecting to see Joanna. 'Sorry i did not mean to disturb you.'

[Marie]

"It doesn't matter," Joanna said. "You can stay, Anni. Maekar, I want an answer."

[Fel]

Maekar glanced at the men calmly, before looking back at Joanna. "It would be easier to have something to say for myself if I knew who exactly I am suspected of killing."

[Helyn Caron]

Anni looked between the queen and her husband. She was unsure on whether she should stay or not.

[Marie]

Joanna sighed.

"Maekar, playing ignorant will not help you. I would like to believe you innocent, I really would, but if you have any thoughts on the matter at all, you'd best tell me. A great many people have died recently and some of them were men of great importance."

Anni stood there stock still not knowing which way to look.
