Ary scooched over and hugged the Queen. "And my nameday is approaching, turning 6 and 10 during this tragedy.." Ary shook her head and we lost our friend, I know it's soon, but will you take another lady in waiting?"

The Queen nodded, "I think I will have to won't I? Although Joanna is joining us, so we won't be too short of people. Happy Name-day, in case I forget," the Queen said, smiling, and hugging Arya again tighter, so that Arya begins to feel some renewed sympathy for the kitten.

Arya was used to being hugged and squeezed tight over the past few days. "Thank you. Joanna will be a good addition to your ladies. Would you like me to resume my duties with you on the morrow?"

"Yes please, if you are able. And find out where Aerie is being kept, and bring her a nice bouquet of flowers for me, please?" The Queen suggested.

"I will, it is a good thought my queen." Arya kissed the Queen on her cheeks, "She is with Lady Kyma I think. By your leave I will return to my room, I haven't slept in my own bed in days."

The Queen nodded, "Go ahead Arya, I will see you again soon."

Arya sat in one of her favourite couches in the Queen's quarters. As was her custom her shoes were off and she wiggled her toes as a light breeze rolled in through the window. One of the Queen's kittens lay next to her sleepily. She was alone but awaited some company.

Joanna came in humming an old song. She picked up the kitten and held it against herself.
"Hello, Arya," she said. "You are looking well."

"Thank you," Arya looked up at Joanna and smiled as she held the kitten close to her. "You look quite pretty today," Ary offered in return. They were definately two different types of beauties. "Have you brought any gossip? It has been hard coming with such a drab mood hanging over the court."

"Yes, I could have done without it too," Joanna answered.
She stroked the kitten as it clung to her.
"I'm afraid I don't have any good gossip for you. I keep hearing rumours about my brothers but you probably hear those too."

"Well I witnessed a dispute firsthand. Prince Maekar chiding Prince Daeron because he had brought several whore into his company and int othe Red Keep. It looked a rather motley assortment of personages, what with his two sellsword guards in odd apparel. I can't imagine what his lady wife will think. Have you had a chance to talk with Daeron lately?"

"Not for a few days, but I wouldn't worry about Calla, raelly. Daeron and Calla spend little time together. I've been hoping to persuade Daeron to spend mre time with his wife, though," Joanna admitted.

"Well a good husband should spend more time with his wife and not surrounding himself with whores. The king sets such a good example." She reached over to a bowl of pears, and picked out a small one. She missed that Aerie would peel fruits for them, though she would give a small sigh. "I hope when I am married, my man does not go behind me back with another woman."

"I'm sure your husband would not dare to do it," Joanna assured her young cousin. "You are much prettier than Calla. Besides, I think there is fault on both sides as far as those two are concerned."

"There very well may be, though I have not heard Calla's side of the story. Perhaps she is a cold woman." Ary shrugged her shoulders and took a small bite of the pear. "But then..Daeron is a prince, how could she be cold to him. I am sure they can resolve their issue." Ary set down her hand on her lap and sat up, "Do you think..do you think Calla is..sort of odd? Like Lady Tarth?"
