For a moment, Aegon looked sceptical, but then he shrugged his shoulders.
"As you will. Rhaenys put you in command, therefore we live and die by your decisions and your abilities."

Oswell met Aegon with a hard stare, he did not like the way this prince was talking but he had to put up with it for the time being.
"She did put me in command, because she knows my knowledge of these lands and of my experience with many a seige. If you have a greievance now is the time to voice it. If not then keep your peace. But either way you are a skilled commander and your knowledge and opinion are called for."

"There is nothing special about me, only an understanding for those that serve faithfully." Oswell was a bit surprised by the queston, but did not let it show. "You may follow whatever Gods you deem worthy. The Starks of the North follow the Old God as they always have and I would never deem to deny you your devotions. Can you write boy? I can not have the possible Lord of Riverrun being illiterate. I make sure that all of my captains and advisors know there numbers and letters, as well as the swrd." "I thought all knights had to serve the Seven, standing in a sept and all that. That was the old men in my village told in all their stories when I grew up. But as that doesn't seem to be an issue I guess I can become a knight." He paused a second and then shook his head. "No, my lord. I can not."

Oswell smiled warmly. "Then you will have to learn. Cleos here knows how and will split time between the sword and teaching you the read and write. It will give you a break form the harsh training he is sure to invoke," Oswell winked.
"Please Connor sit and listen. Learn what you can from this meeting. It will be a good lesson for you." Oswell turns to Aegon, awaiting his answer.

Connor nodded and moved to take a seat to the side.

"Your reputation in siege-craft precedes you Lord Tully. However you are not the only one experienced in many a siege".
"If we should meet the Cultists in the field, then for all our sakes, I hope your ability as our Commander will be commensurate with whoever commands the Cultists. Otherwise, given the numbers I saw as I arrived, we may be up against significant odds."

Oswell felt anger and frustration boiling up. "I assure you Aegon, I am a skilled enough commander to take down a small holding of Cultists. They are fanatics, not warriors. Which could make them all the more dangerous. They have nothing to live for now, this will work for and against us and rest assured I have taken it into consideration."

"Very well then. I leave it in your hands. Now I will see to my men and prepare them to march west on the morrow."
The Prince turned and exited the tent.

Oswell sneered and slammed his fist. "Damn that man, he will trouble me all the way to the Golden Tooth. I almost wish he had not come to join us, but I will have to put up with his insolence." Oswell sighed. "Be glad you do not have to deal with men like that Connor."
"Simon, when we are marching have you men keep an eye on him. I don't want them among his soldiers, but I want to know what he's doing."
