After a few weeks over-seeing the construction of Riverrun, Oswell calls together his captains and master masons to discuss plans to move west.
Once James, Cleos, Renly, and Simon were gathered Oswell sits behind his desk and glances around. He nods and looks at each man in turn. "It is my intention to move West on the morrow. Queen Rhaenys has made it clear to me that she wants us to strike for the Golden Tooth and then head South for Dustwind. It is a small keep that the cult in the area have holed themselves in."
Cleos nodded, "I have been training the new recruits these past weeks. And thought they are no professionals, they are ready to fight."
Oswell nods, "Thank you Cleos. We have just over eight hundred men, I would like to leave a small group of them here to supplement Connor Rivers and his villagers. They have proven themselves against the Cult before and I trust in their courage and skill but it would be best to have more. Master Renly, you will of course be in charge of the masons and workers. I would like you to show Connor Rivers as much as you can as well. He is a fast and willing learner."

Connor stood quiet as the meeting began, and listened to what the "nobles" had to say. He nodded to Oswell's orders and spoke.
"You are most kind of leaving me behind, I do not wish to leave Riverrun in the state it's in, my lord."
He had almost said that he didn't want Riverrun to be without a Tully overseeing it, but he had managed to keep that quiet. He did not know how much of the other people there new of his blood.
"Me and the one's from the village are at your disposal, Master Renly."

Renly nodded to nodded Oswell and turned to Connor. "You will be a most welcome addition to the work. I have seen you working, and you show promise."
Oswell smiled at Connor, glad he was living up to the Tully blood that flowed in his veins. "As for the rest of you, I am leaving Cleos behind to manage the men here, you have served me well in the past and you know these lands. The rest of you will come with me and our army, such that it is. As I said before, we make for the Golden Tooth before we turn south. James, go and get the men ready. Pack what rations we will need and make sure every man has proper arms and armor."
James nodded his understanding and left without a word. "And Renly, make sure those plans we spoke of go ahead, I do not relish seeing my caste fall again." Renly bobbed his head, Yes m'lord. I will personally see to it." Having nothing else to add Renly departs, leaving Cleo, Simon, Oswell, and Connor in the pavilion.
Oswell studies Connor fora moment and looks to Cleos. "Ser Whent, I would like you to give Connor here a proper training. When he is not working with Master Renly, train him with the sword and shield. Train him as if...as if he were of Tully blood." Oswell smiles and winks at Connor. "Does that suit you Master Connor, to receive a proper knight's training?"

Connor bowed his head slightly to Master Renly, but didn't say anything. He stood quiet in the background, as Oswell laid out the plans for his men, until he was spoken too.
"I know how to handle bow and short sword, but if it's my lords wish to teach me how to train to be a knight, who am I to refuse such a generous offer."

"It is my wish." Oswell looked at Simon, who was smiling despite his usual business-like manner. "It seems Simon here is privey to our little secret Connor, as I would expect, he having been here longer than I. Please Ser Smallwood, tell me what knowledge you know."
Simon grinned widely and looked at Cleos. "Young Connor here is none other than the base born son of Ser Renly Tully, he has his looks, and his heart. As Lord Tully here says, train him as you would a noble born son."
Cleos's mouth hung open for a second before he moves closer to Connor to squint. "I knew it, I knew you had the Tully blood the moment I set eyes on you." Cleos claps an arm around his shoulder. "You will be the finest swordsman in all the Riverlands when I am finished with you. But mind, it will not be easy or fun. You will work hard and Master Renly nor I will give you any leeway. The rode to knighthood is toilsome. Decide now while you have the chance. None here will think you a coward."
Oswell watched Connor with interest, a hint of a smile on his face. While connor though it over Oswel began to write a letter.

Connor felt a bit embarresed at all the attention he was recieving, but he looked serious when he spoke.
"Don't think I don't know that it'd require hard work, Ser Cleos. I was base born and that life is has nothing fun and easy about it. All that I have accomplished in my short life, I have had to do by using my own two hands and my head. I've never thought about knighthood before, but if it helps Lord Oswell, I am up for it. The words of House Tully is not a motto, but a way of life."

Oswell looked up from his writing. "Truer words have never been said my boy. You will one day earn your knighthood Ser Cleos will train you well, he made me into the man I am today." Oswell finished writing the letter and sealed it with the his sigil.
"Connor, I am sending a letter to the Queen. In it I have given her a report of how we are coming along here and our movements to the West. I have also asked a favor from her: I have asked that she legitimize you as a Tully of Riverrun. I have no heir and I do not mean for the Tully line to die should I take a grievous wound. If she grants my request, and should any ill befall me, you will be the Lord in Riverrun by right of blood. I have drawn up a will and papers for you to sign."
Oswell waited while the words sunk in. Cleos stood with his arm still around the young man, mouth hanging open. Simon stood off to the side, leaning against a desk with a broad grin on his face.

"You are truly a special man, my lord. Most men would see me as a threat to their rulership, but you have given me nothing but gift after gift. I am forever grateful for the path you have put me on, my lord." He paused as a question entered his mind. "Do I need to follow the Seven to become the knight you wish for me to be?"

"There is nothing special about me, only an understanding for those that serve faithfully." Oswell was a bit surprised by the queston, but did not let it show.
"You may follow whatever Gods you deem worthy. The Starks of the North follow the Old God as they always have and I would never deem to deny you your devotions. Can you write boy? I can not have the possible Lord of Riverrun being illiterate. I make sure that all of my captains and advisors know there numbers and letters, as well as the swrd."

///// Flying the red and black Targaryen banner, Prince Aegon arrives at Riverrun at the head of his 300 men, asking the whereabouts of Lord Tully. Prince Aegon arrives to find the majority of the soldiers camp to be in a hum of activity. Wagons are being loaded and horses saddled. He is greeted by James Rivers, who stands amid the hustle and bustle yelling orders. When James sees the Princ riding under the Targaryen banner he shouts one last order before walking over to look up at Aegon. "My lord, welcome. We did not know if we should be expecting you. Come this way I will show you to Lord Tully's tavilion, he is holding a meeting even now. Your men can stop to rest here for now. We will be leaving at dawn tomorrow." James leads Princ eAegon through the small camp to the pavilion at its center. He ducks his head in and announces the prince and ducks back out when Oswell waves them both in. "In you go my lord." Oswell stands and greets the Targaryen Prince. "Aegon, you are a wecome sight. We were only just talking of our plans to march West. Please, sit and join us."

Aegon removed his dragon helm and took a seat, resplendent in his Targaryen livery over ornate armour which was decorated with dragons.
"I see you are preparing to move out. Against the Cultists I assume."

"You would be right, I'm sure James here tried to fill you in bt we move out at dawn. We will march for the Golden Tooth before moving south. There is a small keep there that is under control of the Cult and the Queen means for it to be taken back.
"If you would join us you will be second in command, and during the battle you will have the command of your own men. Is there anything you want to address here?"

Aegon studied Lord Tully silently for a moment.
Finally he spoke.
"I would request supplies for my men, fodder for our horses, and a summary of your plans for the fight against the Cultists. And of course where our place is to be within the host as we march west."

Oswell nodded. "I will supply fodder and supplies, though I have little enough. James here has been overseeing that so you shall need to talk with him about that."
"So far I have only laid the ground work on my plan. I understand that the keep we move on is small and from what we saw at Harrenhal I expect the men there to simply fight to the death, whether that is atop the walls or in the fields around the keep I do not know. But either way it will be bloody and long. If they do not come out then siegecraft will need to be built, towers and the like. I do not mean to starve them out, for it will take too long and be too expensive. If you have any suggestions please make them known."
"As to your place on the march I have reserved a place in the rearguard for your men. Should it come to an open field battle I will hold you in reserve, and ride in to crush them when the time is right."
