"In which case, the Neck must be very strong indeed, then. People say, and you'll forgive me for repeating it, that crannogmen are weak because they are smaller in stature than other men, but I disagree. The Neck has a place in history as notoriously difficult to conquer, Greywater Watch has never been found, and your people know how to fight with your unique strengths - poisons, spears, an intimate knowledge of the swamps. The King and I intend to visit the North before the end of next year, and I am eager to see your home and meet your family."

"As we are to host you, Your Grace. With any luck, you might stop at the seat I will have one the ruins of Moat Cailin are rebuilt," he said with a slim smile as changed subjects. "I will tell you true Queen Jeyne, I was pleased to see you and His Grace wed in the Godswood."

"You seem to enjoy building. I would love to see Moat Cailin restored," Jeyne said. She smiled at his comment. "That pleased me too. I do not favor one set of gods before another - all faiths of the realm are equally sacred in my eyes, and all gods are different faces of one being. To say the vows of the Seven before the tree of the old gods pleased me greatly. I suppose we should have drowned ourselves too, though, and perhaps lit a fire somewhere to Rh'llor." She twinkled.

The red cloaks admitted him with respectful bows, and the queen received him in her audience chamber, where she was sitting with one of her dogs, having just dismissed her ladies and septa. She wore a green damask gown, and tourmalines glinted in her hairnet. She smiled up at her uncle and rose to come over and greet him. "Uncle Cedric," she said warmly. "I am so glad you came to visit before you left."

Cedric smiled at her and offered her an elegant golden neck lace with sapphires and rubies strategically placed along the skin. "I instantly thought of you when I saw this." He handed her the jewelry before adding, "I do not know when I will be returning home. Aranya is so fat that I think even one of her mighty steeds would buckle hopelessly."

Ser Mychel Lannister was also remained with the queen, sitting unobtrusively to the side of the room with one of the dogs resting its head in his lap, idly scratching the beast behind its ears.

Jeyne clapped her hands in delight. "It is beautiful, uncle," she said, taking the necklace and admiring it. "But you didn't have to get me such a lovely gift." She clasped it around her neck, and admired herself in a mirror. "I love it," she sighed. "Ser Mychel, isn't it beautiful?"
She led Cedric over to the plush chairs and the low, carved table, and gestured for wine to be served for all three. "I am sure Lady Aranya is not happy with her pregnancy," Jeyne chuckled. "Selyse tells me her mother loves to stay active - hates being encumbered by babies in the belly. Or anything else."

Cedric chuckled, "She hates it indeed, but she does love having children." He coughed once politely before adding, "My father used to always say, 'A male heir is every Lord's duty to the stability of the future.' How is it going with you and Rickon?"

"Yes, she seems to love children, in a rather gruff way," Jeyne said. She flushed at his question. "What do you mean, uncle?"

"Beautiful, your grace, and even more so around your own neck," the white knight said. He had heard many things about Ser Cedric Lannister, and yet he knew the man would never attempt to harm the Queen, so he remained in his seat, scratching the dog's head.

Cedric rolled his eyes and then winked at her, "Well to be put more bluntly. It would be good for the Queen to bear the King's children as soon as possible."

Jeyne glanced at Ser Mychel. "Could you go see if my lady mother is all right in the gardens, ser?" she smiled.

"Your grace, my oath demands that one of my Order is in your presence, or close enough to protect you, at all times. I am sworn to protect your secrets as I do your life and I do not doubt your safety here, but I would be remiss in my duty to leave your side even now," Ser Mychel said quietly. He returned the Queen's smile, sightly apologetic, but subborn in his adherence to his duty.

"You will leave my presence, ser," Jeyne said. "Please stand outside the door, at least."
