"It grieves me to be parted from my companion. Arwyn has become a dear and good friend, but I understand the importance of family." Jeyne sent someone to fetch Arwyn. "Where is Ser William? I would have thought he would pass by here on his way north."

Jeyne went to Arwyn, took her hand, and gently kissed her on each cheek. "You are a kind-hearted friend, and I will miss you greatly," she said. "But you mustn't pass up the opportunity to go north with your brother!" Jeyne smiled. It was well known that Jeyne relied on the companionship of her ladies, as she got none from her husband, but as she grew older, Jeyne's dependency on her women decreased.

"Thank you. I shall learn what I can from the North. I will even bring back a map so your healers may go North and tend the people of the North."
