Jeyne summoned her sworn sword, Ser Mychel Lannister. "I know you have had trouble with that awful Avery," she said, looking troubled herself. "But I must ask you if any headway as been made regarding Prince Rodrick. Where have you looked?"

Ser Mychel arrived, not having had times to change out of his bloodstained whites, and gave the Queen a blank look. "Prince Rodrick..? I have not seen him in quite some time, though I had considered myself lucky in that regard. Is something amiss?"

"Something is certainly amiss, if a Kingsguard don't know that Prince Rodrick has disappeared from his chambers while his door was locked," Jeyne said. "Ser Benfry has had the whole castle and grounds searched, and he can't find anywhere. I need you to take my hounds, give them his scent, and see if they can find a trace. I'll come with you."

Ser Mychel stood rooted in place, in shock. "The prince is missing? For how long, I have heard naught of this, aside from rumors, but I simply chalked them up to the Prince making the lives of those around him troublesome." He sighed heavily, thinking. "Where do you propose to begin looking, your grace?" he asked, sending a page off to fetch the queen's bloodhounds. "I am sure my Lord Commander has already combed the castle thoroughly if he knows of this."

"Not with dogs," Jeyne said grimly. "We start in Rodrick's room, where his trail starts."
The page returns with her three best hounds, two longhaired westerland beauties and a lean, short-haired brown hound from the riverlands, straining eagerly at the leashes, jeweled collars glimmering. Jeyne took the leashes. "Let's go."

Ser Mychel marched through the Red Keep's halls beside the queen. At one point he reached for the dogs' leashes, though the bloodhounds growled threateningly at him and he quickly withdrew his hand leaving their leashes in the hands of their mistress.

Aerie stormed into the Queen's chambers with a tragic scowl working its way across her face. There was no end to this day. For once she had thought there was a future, that she had found somebody worth enduring, somebody whose presence did not irk her to the edge of patience.
If that was the case, then why did it seem like Lord Pieter Tully was more interested in complementing Ser Mychel Lannister's drab white ensemble than speaking to her? Captivity had done strage things to his mind, and Aerie had utterly lost hope.

Queen Jeyne looked up from the bottle of Arbor wine she was nursing. It was most unlike her to ever be caught like this - cheeks flushed from drink, eyes slightly unfocused, a frowny mouth.
"Lady Aerie!" she said. "I am glad to see you. Sit down, sit down. Have a drink." She motioned to one of the many bottles of wine. "The Seven know I could use a woman's advice, or commiseration."
She started to take another swig of red wine, and then found that only a few droplets were left. Jeyne looked at her bottle sadly, and then threw it aside and reached for another. "The world looks so much nice through the bottom of a bottle," she sighed, twisted the seal off.

The Kingsguard knight at the door, the venerable Ser Galwyn Fell, stopped him. "Who are you?" he asked, eyes narrowing.

Ser Galwyn admitted him inside. The queen sat in her chamber. At seventeen, she was as cool and unbendable as ice; she looked a very different picture from her early girlhood. Yet her stern mouth relaxed into a kind smile when she turned to Ser Kebra. "You are in the service of Lord Tallahar, my good knight?"

"Well yes. But not directly. I am close friend to Ser William Tyrell."

"I see," the queen said. "And what brings you to me?"
