Anya Baratheon lies in bed exhausted having just given birth to twin sons. Her room is nearly empty, only Grand Maester Nehmen is present.

Lord Liston Hogg enters and bows to the Queen, "My Queen, I have found a lady to replace the theiving magpie you had flogged. Her name is Mally Avalon, she is from the Vale. Of a good family." He bows and motions toward the door.

Mally's maid removed her cloak. Mally was dressed in a beautiful gown of green samite, her golden hair braided with flowers. She dipped a curtsey gracefully. "I am honored that my lady allows me in her presence, and at such a time. May the little ones be blessed by the Father Above, and the Warrior."

The Queen shifted up to a sitting position, running her brown eyes, up and down Mally's gown, "I thank you for your blessings, on I wish the same on any children you may have. So you wish to be one of my attendants. Please tell me about yourself. That will be enough Lord Hogg."
Hogg bows and walks from the room adjusting his belt.

"I have no children, my lady. I am but a maid of sixteen." Mally gave her a shy smile, both respectful and impishly charming. "My uncle is Arguel Flowers, and my cousin is Ser Anselm of the Kingsguard. I lived in the Vale until I came into the city with my sister Tilda. I enjoy singing, and I confess I can play the high harp quite adequately. It is a favorite past time of mine."

Nehmen eyes Mally speculatively, then says to the Queen, "I will be with your children, and then I must check on Breyn Royce again." He bows to the Queen and nods at Mally as he exits.
The Queen motions toward an empty chair, "I have met poor Ser Anselm. I do not really care for the Harp myself. Can you sing? What post did you hold immediately before this one?"

Mally sat down beside the Queen. "My lady, a well brought up lady does not have a true profession. I could be considered a seamstress, however. I sewed for friends and family. I can show you some exquisite stitches, if my lady would like to see them."

Anya raised a single delicate eye brow, "Have you lived at all. I am sick and tired of these boring sheltered ladies in waitings. I want one with a little verve, who will have interesting stories to tell. Do you?"

Mally grinned, warming to the Queen at these words. "I might have some stories of questionable decency, if my lady would care to hear them. A well brought up lady does not always follow the path of her sisters. I hope my lady will not think less of me, but I am not a maiden, entirely. I find life far too exhilarating to miss out on."

"I do not think any less of you. Who was this lucky man, and what is he like?" The Queen smiles wickedly.

Mally leaned back in her chair and tilted towards the queen, as if both demure and gossipy at once. "He was a ganglord," she said in a sweet girlish voice, her tone confidential. "With fierce, bright blue eyes and this thick black beard. He took me in his tavern, oh, it was so deliciously dangerous! A thousand times I told him no, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. And finally I was crying yes." Mally blushed, but her eyes sparkled.

The Queen laughed delicously, "A ganglord, well your have travelled wider then I thought. I find you acceptable, Mally and very interesting. Go and talk to Adelia, she can find you some quarters on this floor."

Mally smiled and dipped another curtsey. "I will be glad to do as my lady wishes. If you need some company tonight, I will be only too glad to provide it. My gracious lady must be tired after childbirth."

"I would like some company, change into some sleeping clothes and you can share my bed, and tell me more of this dashing crime lord." Anya smiles wickedly.

Mally grinned back. "My lady will find I make a good bedmaid. I will leave my things with this Adelia, and then change my clothes and come to you, my lady."
After her quarters were readied, Mally came back to the queen, wearing a snug cotton sleeping shift which came up to mid-thigh. She climbed into bed beside the queen and began whispering exciting stories of the ganglord, as if they were two naughty girls.
