Loren laughed,"of course not, Lord Varner, I am a man of many talents and can balance work and play with equal judiciousness," Dorian's emphasis on work seemed to imply that Cyrus could be overly absorbed in his work, a criticism often leveled on his Father.

"Perhaps you should have taken Loren's place at the Tourney." Cyrus said, a half smile on his face.

When they had all ridden into the courtyard, Paxter dismounted and handed the reins of his horse to a servant.
He led the men into the great hall. "I will let my lord father know you have arrived."
OOC: Smith or Hightower should probably play Lord Foster.

Luke turned to Ser Bertram.
"Will you send for me, so we could speak some more later."

Ser Betram nodded, "it would be my pleasure. Let Lysa," he gestured towards a pretty young thing in a servant's dress. "Will show you to your quarters, and I will join you there shortly... but not too shortly." He smiled.
"And you gentlemen, if you will follow me to Lord Foster."
Lord Foster was not as an imposing man as his father had been, he'd spent too much time in his shadow, and a few more years in an Iron Born cell, but he was sharp, and serious, and nodded respectfully to Lords Varner and Florent as they arrived.
"How are things on the mainland milords? Don't tell me your cellars are empty already?" He smiled with little conviction.

Lord Florent shook his head, "Nay, although our merchants complain of increased Piracy, not just your occassional reaver, but coordinated and deliberate attacks by men with Red Daggers." Dorian looked towards Cyrus to be sure he was catching all of the reports.
"We had hoped your House could shed some late on these complaints as no doubt your House would have the most interaction with pirates be they Ironborn or other groups."

Luke felt like he needed to rest some after the riding, so he walked up to Lysa and followed her to the room he would be staying in.

"Aye, there has been the occasional raid. Most of the Reaver activity has been out near the Stepstones, but these Red Daggers well, they're a different kettle of fish. They strike rarely, but at only the most attractive of cargo ships. They pick through the cargo like a miserly old fishwife at the market. They take just a few items, and leave the rest. Strangest bit of pirating I've ever seen. When we ask the survivors what was missing, their not often keen to says much. Very odd."

Dorian looked puzzled, "So they attack only specific ships take a few items and leave the crew unmolested? Are their certain merchants more begrudged then others and have any answered about what they took?"

"They that won't say, don't know." Redwyne shrugged, "And believe me, unmolested is not the phrase I would have used. The survivors we've recovered were accidental." Lord Redwyne said stiffly.

Dorian nodded, he had a tendency to read a person's words too literally a habit acquired from countless hours of reading by candle light.
"Have the pirates shown any particular patterns that you have noticed? I fear that many of the merchants would be loathe to report losses openly as it hampers their insurance risk so without your evidence firsthand the problem is likely under reported. Have the arbor patrols turned up any of their ships?"

"They flee quickly after the attack. We've got patrols in the water, but we've had minimal success with seizing them. I think we've taken one ship in three years."

"Is it possible to estimate their numbers?" Dorian asks curious about learning more of these pirates, he turns to Cyrus to see if he had anything he felt like mentioning.

"Given the reports and descriptions, I'd say anywhere between six and two dozen ships." Lord Foster said. He sounded bored with the whole thing. The Arbor knew that a certain level of piracy was to be expected.
"Perhaps milord you'd endorse an expedition to uncover these raiders and bring them to justice."
"If you mean put them on the bottom of the sea, than absolutely."

The Fox nodded, "Well that was easy," he said looking to Cyrus, "although according to Lord Redwyne's statements these pirates might be more difficult to find then we expect," Dorian looks deep in thought.
"Perhaps what we need is to take a lesson from the Battle plan of Archibald Winter Redwyne, Lord Redwyne's great great great great great grand uncle," Dorian says without offering any further explanation to what that happens to be.
