"I see. Thank you, Ser Bertram. But I also have some other questions." Alexander took two cups and poured some wine. He gave one to Ser Bertram.
"I know that Arbor's strenght lies in the sea. So, I'm asking you, what would be the best case? The fleet can take care of the occasional reavers, but if the Ironborn are preparing something more, we should reinforce our naval power. What would be best? I wont lie to my Lord, but if mayhaps I discover that the Mandermen are withholding such informations? Isn't that a reason to enlarge Arbor's fleet? A reason none could object to?"

Betram raised his eyebrow. "I can not say what would compel Lord Foster to undertake an attempt at enlarging the fleet. Ships are expensive, and we pay a great price to maintain even the... modest fleet that we do. There may be cheaper ways to bolster our ranks if that were the need. In any case the reavers have not threatened the Arbor in some time. Indeed we've sailed along side the Ironborn more than we've sailed against them, so I'd want quite clear proof of ill-intent before we did anything rash ourselves."

"I guess you're right, Ser. I'm not accustomed to Westeros and your counsel is more than helpful. And what about the men who are to acompany me?"

"What about them?" Betram asked.

"As far as I know we'll be travelling through this part of the Reach before we reach Highgarden. Is it possible that we could encounter troubles? I thought the roads are relatively safe."

"The Roads to Highgarden are safe, you'll be in the Far Reach the whole time. The roads are secured by holdfasts and are the best in Westeros. The guards are for your safety IN Highgarden. But more so they are for purposes of decorum. A man who travels unescorted is often not seen as someone worth taking seriously. A few men with surcoats to remind those you speak to that you serve The Arbor would not be a waste of resources."

"So much for the Guest Right, eh? Thank you again Ser Bertram." Alexander took the last sip of his wine.
"And where could I find your master-at-arms? Suppose he's in the castle yard?"

"I suppose so Alexander. Or in the Armory." Betram said, as if he found the topic slightly uninteresting. I suppose you'll want to go beat the man up. Why is it that whenever someone comes to the Arbor the first thing they do is pummel our Master of Arms? Eh, no matter. That's where you'll find him."

"Probably because it's much more difficult to pummel it's admirals." Alexander laughed.
"Thank you again, Ser Bertram."
<ooc Should I post a scenario with the master-at-arms, or is it too much? Guess I should just go on with the story>

<Ooc: A scenario with the master-at-arms would be fine I'm sure. You can send it to Smith and he will publish it. You do not have to wait for it to be posted before continuing your RP though.>
