Flowers is a bastard name, the guy's father was knighted and married and had children in wedlock so they got his name. I wonder if that is how it is suppose to work in GRRM's world. |

Oldflowers is the third reachman.
Flowers is from King's Landing. His father was a bastard from the reach, but he married so Anselm is not a bastard, but does have his father's last name "Flowers".

Ah, I see, sorry, didn't get your first explanation.
That is a bit of an odd one, what might be the case is that when a bastard starts a family he changes his name to a newly created one. I can't think of any bastards who had wives in the books, though.
