The massive stone tower can be viewed from anywhere in Oldtown, as it overlooks the harbor, the massive burning flame at its top a beacon to ships, guiding them home. This is the Home of Lord Justin Hightower, his Lord Regent, and the Maester Alesander.

The two oldtown guardsmen escort Tristeza and her man-servant/bodyguard into the Hightower. She is given the ambassadorial suite, with a connecting room for the servant.
"When you settle in, just let us know, and we'll escort you to the Lord Regent's Solar." says one, in a deep no nonsense voice.

After a quick bite and bath, Tristeza called Kardaine back into her room, and with him in tow, exited their suite. She beckoned to the guards, requesting a lead to the Lord Tarly's Solar.

She is led there at a time when he is available.

In the foyer, a small honor guard of the Oldtown watch had been assembled to welcome home the Regent. As he strode inside, one blew a trumpet.
"Lord Justin Hightower, Voice of Oldtown and Lord of the Port." A small, brown haired boy entered, followed by a greying Maester, who Alex recognized as Maester Alesander who was also the boy's uncle. Behind them, two men in heavy mail hauberks wearing Hightower surcoats. Behind them, came Lady Anne Varner, and a small entourage of children. Cyrus and Shauna , in Varner black and white were first, holding hands and looking around nervously. Behind them Loren and Corinne, in Irwyn red and green. lastly, little Dorian, who insisted on walking by himself. The children watch the strange man in his light mail and red surcoat. They stop and look at Lady Anne hesitantly, until she leans and whispers something to them.
"Father!" the Irwyn children yell finally, running forward, and hugging his legs.

Alexander laughs, as he rushes to pick up the twins, "My how you've grown" he says hardly recognizing the twins, he smiles at little Dorian, "and you walking now," he says in amazement.
"Lord Hightower," Alexander says with a smile "you've grown to be quite the man as well."
"I am so pleased to be home, its been way to long."

Lord Justin stood quietly while Irwyn greeted his children.
"Lord Irwyn, welcome home. Both the Far Reach and the Iron throne owe you..." The boy looked at the maester, who mouthed some words.
"Owe you a debt of gratitude." He said, pronouncing each syllable carefully. "You have, my... err... you have our thanks. It is my wish, that you officially remain... your position, in your position... as my regent, and assist me, in looking after... my people." The boy said, straining to remember the difficult words.

Alexander bows, "As you wish milord, how have your studies been going is Maester Alesander allowing you any time to have fun?" he says light heartedly trying to break the formalness of situation.

"Sometimes. Lord Cyrus, Loren and I were building a castle out of blocks, but we can't let Dorian play or he knocks it down." the boy said. "We let the girls in, but they have to promise not to be too girly."

"Well yes, obviously so," he smiles at his young Lord and then at Lady Anne. "Anne I can not begin to thank you for what you did for my children I am forever in your debt."

Lady Anne curtsied low. "Think nothing of it Lord Regent, I was merely repaying my husband's debt to you. If you had not done what he'd asked..." She frowned... "Well, that's the past."

"Indeed," is all that Alexander can muster. "Oh I almost forgot," Alexander says as he waves to a few attendants, "presents for everyone." Alexander says with a smile as the attendant brings a collection of fruit, silk and other oddities from Dorne for the children and Lady Anne. He frowns, "I am sorry Maester but I could not find anything of interest for you, all the Dornish seem to study is pillow books."

The Maester struggled. "I am glad you did not bring me any books. They shall need all the accumulated wisdom of the Kingdom to rebuild I fear." Alesander tugged his chain nervously, although the words were clearly not intended as a rebuke.
The children run to go through the presents, and discuss who should get what. Lord Justin stands apart for a moment, but eventually joins in.
"Will you be staying in Oldtown milord?" Lady Varner asked demurely.

"I will at least for the time being. There is much to be done here and there is always trouble around the corner." Alexander's once famous optimism seems have suffered a heavy dose of reality over the past few years.
