"That's alright. Your children and mine seem to enjoy their time together, and I think the young Lord can use the company, to be honest. Maester Alesander is an excellent teacher, but not much of a companion for a young boy." She touched the Maester's arm, and he laughed and nodded. "I'm afraid its true milord. But young Lord Justin will be a true scholar, I'm sure of it. Very sharp witted young boy."

"So long as he receives at least a rudimentary skill in arms," Alexander says, "I don't mean to make him a soldier, but this kingdom seems to always be at war and while I may live to be an old man, if the seven will it, Lord Justin must know how his army will defend him."

"Well milord, he's very found of his two sworn swords, who have been instructing him in their proper usage, but I'm sure you'd be best for instructing in the... larger scale of conflict." The Maester seems sadden about the idea of innocence lost, but says nothing. At their mention, the two men step forward.
"Lord Regent." says one.
"Milord," says the other.

"Pleasure to meet you," Irwyn says with a smile. "Well it seems that everything is right with the land, maybe I had no need to come back," Alexander says although the look he gives to his children lets him know it is just a jest.
"I am in need of a bath before dinner and maybe a quick nap," Alexander says. "I pushed the mounts hard to get back earlier. They were good Dornish stallions though so they ride fast when they don't have all that heat to weigh them down."

"This is Ser Tristan and Ser Jacques. Ser Jacques uses a warhammer, but I don't like it, because its very heavy." He says firmly.
"Very well, perhaps we should all retire before dinner, "Said Lady Anne, gathering up the children.
"Will you want the children to eat dinner with you Lord Irwyn?" she asked.

"Yes that would please me very much Anne, and if you and Cyrus and Lord Hightower and Maester Alesander would care to join me as well I would be delighted."

Anne curtsied against. "As it please you milord." She led the children away to prepare for dinner, as Lord Justin and his two sworn men departed along with the Maester.
A steward shows Irwyn to his room, draws a bath, and lays out clothing for dinner. //////
A few short hours later, a bell gave notice of the supping hour. The hall featured a long rectangular table, with bench seats. Lord Justin sat at the head of the table, and places were set at the sides. The children sat the furthest from the head, while a place was set for Alexander on Justin's right, and Alesander on his left.

Alexander couldn't wait to get back to the Far Reach and some real cooking, the fare in Dorne was too light and fruity for his tastes although even Dornish food ranked above army rations. Alexander smiles at his children, waving to his little girl at the very end. "She reminds me so much of Dacey," he says aloud though not to anyone in particular.

"How did your wife die Lord Irwyn? Maester Alesander refuses to tell me." The Maester opened his mouth as if to say something, but it hung open, wordless. Lady Anne, who was sitting on Lord Irwyn's right, looked down at her peas, and shuffled them around nervously.

Alexander turns to the young lord, nodding at the Maester to let him know it is all right.
"Well mi lord, two years ago, their was a coups in Kings Landing by the former Lord Hand Horas Blackwood and his wife Tristeza Martell." Alexander struggles to continue, "The Crow took the Red Keep in the middle of the night and ordered all to obey. Myself and a number of your other Lords escaped through the sewers of the city to return back to our army to resist. My wife Dacey remained in King Landing and despite trying to hide there the Crow found her and murdered her when I refused to bend a knee to his plan. Lady Varner's husband who also resisted the crow was also killed by Horas." Alexander speaks softly so that the little children at the far end can not hear their words but otherwise hides nothing.

"That is very terrible..." The boy said, thoughtfully. "Have they caught This Horas and Trisala yet?"

"Well Horas Blackwood supposedly died in a fire, and Lady Martell has fled Dorne for the warmth of our neighbors in Braavos. Last I heard she was serving as a nanny for the Sea Lord's children," he says with disdain.

Lord Justin frowned. "I don't like that very much at all at all. Is that something in our power to..." he looked as if remembering something he'd read. "change?"
Dorian began crying about eating peas, but Lady Anne gave him a look and he quieted and ate.

Alexander smiled at the child Lord's seriousness, "in time perhaps, believe me milord I am already acting on your behalf to right every wrong that I am able," he chuckles, "these matters take time and while we may hope to hurry smith's plan for us at time, it is often better to trust in the seven."
"How was the remembrance of Lord Tarly, Lord Varner and Lady Irwyn and the celebration of victory over Dorne," Alexander says changing the subject. It was a topic he had discussed in great detail with Lord Tarly but wasn't sure if it ever happened.

"I understand that His Grace, King Rickon is bethrothed to Lady Jeyne Lannister." The boy says. "I am not very much younger than King Rickon. Do I need a betrothal too?"
