OOC: Am I the only one who distrusts Maerys more than Aemon? I think he's more of a threat than the king.

OOC: Agree completely. But the fact that Maerys is always around effects one's trust of Aemon. Aemon seems pretty reasonable, but Maerys lives up to the historic Maelys byname (the Monstrous). Minus the two heads, of course.

OOC: Perhaps Maelys the monstorous was schzophrenic? Hence the "two heads", it would go with the Targaryen madness.

OOC: I'm not sure why people are so threatened by Maerys. The way I created him he does not actively seek out enemies. He lost his wife when she died in childbirth and since then he hasn't been the same, he's not necessarily evil.

OOC: It's because he's crude, malicious, and during the battle of Casterly Rock he was ferocious. I see him kind of like Maegor the Cruel, he was trying to stamp out a rogue-militant-quas- religious-fanatical order, but got a bad reputation out of it anyways.

OOC: Too true, but mabye I just have a bias against him. Someone trying to kill you does that.
