Mariya entered. She wore a plain gown for now though she hoped for a training session later.

Garnet looked at her, and did not wait for Finn to arrive, "Explain yourself."

"Explain what, my lord"? Mariya asked, wondering what she was supposed to have done wrong.

"The situation with the King." Garnet said. He leaned back in his chair, and motioned for her to sit as well.
Mox lurked in the background, walking and examining the furniture.

Mariya sat and linked her fingers nervously. Careful, she told herself. Give away nothing that you need not.
"I went on the hunt, my lord," she said. "It just happened that I was the one to strike the killing blow when we found the lion. I saw my chance, so I took it. The King was....impressed, I think."

Garnet said nothing just stared into her soul.

Mariya sighed a little and waited uncomfortably. She didn't want to say anything more.

Mox said as he walked behind her, "That is it; there is no more to the story?"

""Yes. That's it," she said, wondering who had spoken to them. "Michael was injured, as you know, and Finn was brave too. That's all."

"What did the king do then." Mox said, still invisble behind her.

"Not much, my lord. His Grace expressed his surprise, and then we returned to the castle," she said cautiously.

Garnet tilted his head, and took her hand, "I am so sorry, but lying is not going to work. There were too many men watching."

"I';m not lying, my lord," she said.
After all, she was telling the truth, just missing some bits out.

"I know you are ashamed, but we need to find a proper solution. You can not pretend it did not happen." Garnet said.
