Ser Renly spoke quickly and to the point. "Lord Rhodri, greetings. We have just received a raven from Grandview. Apparently Dornish troops are marching towards the Stormlands through the passes in the Dornish marches. My father Lord Edwyn has recalled Ser Eldon here, his son and heir, to help him organise a possible defence. "However we believe the city gates are locked to all traffic. "My brother serves as our Lord Father's battle commander. As the brother of the Hand, we ask you to grant that Ser Eldon be allowed to return to Grandview as soon as possible." Rhodri nodded, "Of course... I shall write up a pass immediately. I am leaving for Nightsong immediately. My brother is placing me in command of the Stormlands. I will guide my nephew until he is ready to command." He began to write quickly.

Ser Eldon and Renly glanced at each other and smiled.
"Perhaps myself and my men could accompany you." said Eldon. "Nightsong is not that far from Grandview and my aunt Elinor is the wife of Lord Caron. I should be pleased to see her and my cousins again."

Rhodri nodded, "That would be quite acceptable to me."

Ser Eldon, ever courteous, inclined his head.
"Very good my Lord. We shall prepare at once. When do you intend leaving?"

"Immediately" Royce replied.

"Then my brother shall be ready." replied Renly hastily, before Eldon could say anything further. "My sister Iolande will be coming as well. Don't worry about her keeping up either. She can ride like a man."

Rhodri nodded, "That is well. I have two hundred men riding with me. We leave within the hour. I must finish my preparations. If you will excuse me."

The Grandison brothers both bowed and left hurriedly to make their own preparations.
