Anya snorted, "North men are hard like land that forged them, as are the Ironborn. I fault their kinds many things, but not strength." She turned, and moved close to him. "Did you bring me out here to seek my brother's mind, I thought you had a different goal, further to the south."

Lyanne, having grown bored with the conversation her brother was having, sauntered over to the men of the Night's Watch that were present. "I bet you have some interesting stories." She announced to the group.

There were two men there. One young and staring at his hands, the other old grizzled, and swaying to a non present breeze. He smiled at the the girl, and said "I could make you weep with the things I have seen, my lady."

"I bet you couldn't," Lyanne said teasingly as she grabbed a chair and sat down. "If they'd let girls join I'd be right up there with you on the Wall."

The drunk man laughed, "I have seen far too many whores rip out the eyes of men to disagree with you my lady."

Lyanne laughed and grabbed a mug of ale, drinking deeply from it. "Cousin Benjen always tells me I'd make a great ranger. I can find my way around any forest and I'm best with the bow at the Dreadfort." She sipped again and set the mug down. "So, you were going to tell a scary story."

"It was a cold night above the wall." He shook his head, "Fuck they all are cold nights above the wall. And a ranging of ten men were traveling north looking for a deserter. We were riding, desperate to find a camp site when this storm from hell's abyss blows down on us."

Lyanne's lips spread into a grin. "I heard about them storms you get above the Wall. Sound mighty vicious to me."

"It was worse then one of those by far. The winds froze two men dead as they stood. The rest of us scrambled into the first shelter we could find." In there we began to burn anything that would burn, one of us braving the wilds to fetch wood. We lost two men, twelve fingers, and nine toes between us."

Jon chuckled. "See, now there is a certain amount of gossip that entertains those more North. Wildlings this, giants that, monsters and creepers from beyond the Wall." He tore off some bread and pointed it at his bastard cousin. "Benjen here would tell you it's all true." "As well as direwolves and grumpkins," Will suggested with a smile. "There are no direwolves or grumpkins, father," Rodrick piped in skeptically. "Uncle says you'd be a fool to believe so." Will laughed, barely putting down his mouthful of meat. "You're the more fool for trusting your uncle!"

She snorted, "My brother is not so foolish as to kill a man for laying a hand on me, especially not a welcome hand."

"Foolish to protect one's loved ones milady?" Ryam asked.

Anya shrugged, "No one can be protected from themselves. So why bother trying." She replied, and looked up as light snow began, "I love a summer snow." She whispered as she raised her hands to catch flakes.

Ryam smiled, as the snows fell, "Haven't had a good one in awhile."
