The Trial of Prince Daeron Targaryen

[Princess Lyssandra Martell]

"Well when you came into my room with several rough and out of sorts looking men and tear up my room and start talking about plots, I wondered if the king was in danger."

[The Stranger]

"And the first person you thought of who might be doing such a plot was Prince Daeron Targaryen. Isn't that so."

[Princess Lyssandra Martell]

"You mentioned prince, and I recalled speaking with Daeron. I was thinking about the dresses that he gave me, that your men were tossing about. He was the first prince I thought of, that is true."

[The Stranger]

Milo clicked his tongue as if he found this rather doubtful. "Did you not also add that Daeron had, and I am quoting, "made no secret that he is unhappy" and "Can be a good talker" Were those your words?" Milo asked, checking his notes. "Those were your words?"

[Princess Lyssandra Martell]

"Those were my words, yes Lord Bettley." She looked around the room again feeling awfully nervous.

[The Stranger]

"So if Prince Daeron's most dangerous weapon, is his words, as you've suggested, shouldn't we be concerned with the words he spoke to Lord Baratheon? to Lord Redfort? Isn't it unlikely, after all, that a good talker would accidentally threaten to poison the King's Dragons? or accidentally tell Lord Redfort to hide his true feelings regarding Queen Joanna until the appropriate time?"

[Princess Lyssandra Martell]

"I haven't suggested his words are a weapon. you're putting words in my mouth, and I don't know what his conversations to those you mentioned entailed. If someone said they wanted to poison the dragons I suppose they should be watched carefully."

[The Stranger]

Milo smiled, "and if someone called the King.. perverse? Should he be carefully watched?"

[Princess Lyssandra Martell]

Her cheeks reddened, "I don't know about that, it's definitely something not to be talked about openly."

[The Stranger]

"And if someone met with men... in the middle of the night, and asked them how they viewed the King and Queen... and then told them to speak nothing of it? Should they be watched too?" Milo asked, cocking his head.

[Princess Lyssandra Martell]

"It seems suspicious. I suppose they should be watched for a while." Arya wondered if it would be over soon.

[The Stranger]

Milo nodded, and mouthed a name to Arya silently. Then he hmmed loudly.

[Princess Lyssandra Martell]

Arya remembered when a maester came by to pull one of her teeth out when she was little. She didn't like that maester at all, and felt the same about Milo. "Is that all m'lord?"

[The Stranger]

"If you had been aware, that Prince Daeron had said, all of those things which I just mentioned. Things, which it has been testified in this courtroom that he did, would it have changed the context of your conversation at all?"

[Princess Lyssandra Martell]

"If I had known those things which you said I would have brought it to someone's attention. I would not have acted much differently, Prince Daeron is a prince and an acquaintance and we are not unused to talking so I would hear him out if he had something to say."
