Maekar returned to the rooms they were staying in after court had been adjourned for the day. He gave Anni a soft look as he entered, a rare break in his usual stiff manner that not many had ever seen.
He moved to the desk and dipped a quill in the pot of ink to begin working.

"Hello, my dear," he said, as he began to write on a piece of parchment.

Anni rolled her eyes. 'manners?' She walked back over to where her son lay sleeping. he was sucking his thumb. he'd fallen asleep on th floor by the fire. she sat down and picked her daughter back up who was gurggling. she picked her up and latched her on to feed her. her icy eyes were throwing daggers at her husband

He looked up at her, putting down the quill and leaning back in his chair.
"Anni, as you are well aware I am extremely busy these days, you will have to forgive me if I do not greet you fully every time I see you."

' Uh-huh.' Anni said returning her attention back to her daughter. She sighed. In he opinion he didnt seem interested since Saella was born. She put her daughter back into her cot and poured a drink for her husband. she banged it down on the desk in front of him.

"Thank you, my dear," he said as he sipped at the wine. If he noticed the anger with which it had been served to him, he chose not to react. He returned to his work, scribbling quickly across the parchment, his brow furrowing in concentration now and then.

god she wished he would notice her more ofter. 'Ad da.' Came the sleepy voice of their son. Anni sweeped him up and took him outside to play. didnt want him to distract his father from his busy work. Saella was now fast asleep after her big lunch making soft noises as she dreamed away. Anni heard a sound behind her

Maekar looked up from his work to see what the source of the noise had been.

a crow landed on the stone of the window making noise. Annie seemed to be extremely jumpy since Saella was born. seemed to be protective of her daughter. her heart was racing. she looked down and watched her son playing with a stick. she smiled down at him. shame though. he was the spitting image of his father.

Not hearing anything further from the next room, Maekar continued to write.

'Ad da?' Vaen said looking up at Anni. stick in his hand. 'Ad da's too busy Vaen...i'm sure he will find time in his busy schedule later for you.' Vaen looked up at anni with a look of confusion in his eyes. Anni sighed. She missed her father. he always found time for her when she was at home. she was his little princess after all. Anni stood and walked back through to the other room leaving Vaen playing. 'Do you want food?' Anni asked aggresively.

"Food?" he said, distracted, "...yes, have you eaten? Have the servants bring us up whatever is in the kitchens."
