'Yes sir.' Annie replied bitterly. she walked to the door and collared the nearest boy telling him to bring them food before turning and returning to the room where her husband was sat.

Maekar frowned at her churlish response. He did not abandon his work until the servant returned with a platter of lemon trout, mashed peas and fried potatoes. He brought his cup of wine to the table and sat to eat, serving Anni and then himself.
He watched her as he cut his food, "is something amiss tonight, Anni?" He pushed a piece of trout into his mouth.

"Saella was born shortly after my accepting the position as Daemon's Master of Laws, the duties of which have kept me increasingly busy. You are misinterpreting my full workload for disinterest," he said casually, as he cut some more food.

Maekar chewed his food and watched his wife.
"You would propose I neglect my duties, Anni?" he said, frowning.

'Did i say that? even at night i feel that there are things you would rather be doing.' Annie put Saella on to her shoulder and jiggled her. she had a wet nurse but was very antsy about saella for some reason so tried to keep her near to her. the baby wouldndn't calm so she pulled her top down slightly so she could late Saella back on again

Maekar's glance dropped to her chest, but corrected itself quickly. "Your feelings are wrong, and I do not know what has brought them on," he said with a sigh.

Anni noticed the flicker in her husbands eye which made her eyes smile for a second. she sighed. 'just would be nice for a bit of attention.' She said she stood and started to pace with the baby. a sudden feeling of tiredness swept across her. the wet nurse appeared and took the baby. she returned to her seat to the side of her husband and looked at what was left of her food

He let out another sigh and stood, dismissing the wet nurse. He move around behind where Anni stood and began rubbing her neck.
"You were aware things would be like this when I accepted this position, Anni. I can not give you more of my time at the moment, it is your role to understand this and support me in my work."

"Thank you," he said, holding her chin between his thumb and index finger and kissing her cheek. He moved back to his desk, leaving dinner unfinished and returned to work.

Anni went and satin the room with Vaen. she still felt the warmth of his kiss on her cheek. was she being selfish? she sighed. she picked her son up and tucked him into his bed. she sat and told him a story stroking his hair until he fell asleep. She returned to where her husband was and sat by the fire and started to do some of her embroidery. 'Would you like something to drink my dear?' She asked quietly

A servent quietly came in and built up the fire before leaving again. Annie returned to her embroidery. the heat of the fire lit up her face. she sighed. she seemed to be sighing a lot lately. she stood and poured her self a goblet of wine before returning to her chair. she hoped he would come and sit with her soon. but she wouldnt push him. she sighed. 'I am going to retire, my dear.' Annie said. she kissed his head and went to her bed
