The guardsmen recoils, a disgusted look on his face. "What the hell was that for," asks whipping off the spit.
Connor shakes his head, "They were the men you sent me after, but they are no bandits my lord. This is Sojen Manderly," he says pointing to the man beside him. "They were hunting the Gods Eyes just as I was. He claims Frey men attacked him and so he had no choice but to defend himself."

Walking over to Sojen he studied him, "What this man does not know if that I have met Sojen Manderly, and this is not him." He motioned, "Arrest this impostor ."

Connor holds up his hand. "My lord, if this man is an impostor how would he come to carry Ice with him? No mere impostor would be able to get his hands on it, no matter how good they are. I am your man and will follow your orders, but I would not like to start a war with the North for such a simple matter."

Banefort leaned over and spoke with Tully, "He had Ice on him? May I see it."

Connor nods. Ice had been strapped to his back for safekeeping since it was too long for his hip. He pulls the blade out so that half a foot of shining Valyrian steel glistened in the light of the torches.
"Only a fool would mistake it for anything than what it is, and only a fool would think to steal such a treasure. He is who I say he is my lord, and he wields this blade like a man who has had much practice." Connor gestured to Sojen bandages, and his own. "We had a duel, I'll leave it to you to guess who won," Connor says flatly.

Banefort's eyes brightened when he say the steel. He holds out his hand, "May I?"

"I would prefer, Lord Banefort, if you did not touch that. It is unseemly to allow another man to touch one's weapon, especially one with such a lineage to it." Sojen said smoothly.
"But to be believed, it is Ice."

Banefort looked at Sojen, "Are prisoners allowed to speak? I would think they are not... but I did not make the rules."

"Very well, Banefort." Sojen said, relaxing. "Though, if you want to receive the curse, that is entirely up to you. I for one am not a fan of an untimely end, nor a tortured soul."

Banefort looked at the man, and then bent over laughing. He laughed so hard he could not breath. "You think I could be cursed... could?" The last word was mixed with shrieking laughter.

"Well, you're right, Lord." He chuckled. "It is very silly, and if most likely just a wives tale. Why don't you just grab onto the hilt there and give it a go."

Connor watched as his liege lord howled and shrieked. "My lord please, this is not the manner befitting the Lord of the Crossing," he says in a sharp whisper.

Banefort stopped laughing and looked to Tully, "Will you do the honor of informing master Sojen exactly what I am known for through out the riverlands."

"Banefort the Unlucky, isn't it?" Sojen said lightly. "I've heard. Though you may continue. A curse is a curse."

Connor smiles. "Lord Banefort here is known for his bad luck far and and wide Sojen...touching your sword will do him little more harm." Saying that Connor takes the sword from his back and hands the blade to Banefort hilt first.
