Cursing, Benjen grabbed one of the men running into the keep.
"Tell me who did this," he demanded. "How many of them and who leads them?"

The man was jerked around, and his eyes were full of panic, "There are hundreds... hundreds."

"Right, gather up every able-bodied man you can find. Women and older children too. Septons included. I want them out in the courtyard."
Benjen thought for a moment then turned to the septon who had told him about the attackers.
"Old people, young children and their mothers to go to the crypts and stay there until told to come out."
He turned to Leilanna.
"I want bows, spears, staves, rocks, anything that can be used as a weapon. Find out if this place still has an armoury."
He ran up to the ramparts, calling back to the group he'd given orders too.
"I will see if we can determine how many are coming."
As he ran, he hoped the septons kept someone on watch.

Before he ran far, Leilianna's hand could be felt on his sleeve. "The gates Benjen... .no one is closing them."

"Get them closed," he said. "If there's anyone left, well, they will have to fend for themselves."

Leilianna sighed and walked to the gates, ordering men to help her close them. Few of the men even listened to her.

Benjen ran forward to help Leilanna close the gates.
"They're not to be opened except by my command," he said.

The men who helped him closed the gates looked at him in confusion.
ooc: There is no guards at Winterfell because it has been converted into a Septry.

"We have to keep watch," Benjen said. to the men. "It's a bloody stupid idea not to have any guards.
He pointed at the nearest man.
"You, go up to the ramparts and tell me what you see. Go!"

There were a great deal of torches moving toward the keep. Many, many mounted men rode toward the walls of the keep.
