"They sent you to attack us, because we are their enemies. They raid us, and we raid them. And no men will come with you. When you bring us the blood price, the men are released not before," the clan chief says.

"Then it seems that we have common enemies, me and my men have fought against you and you are a mighty warrior indeed. But would it not benefit you to join us in attacking them so that you can eliminate them and end the constant raiding between your clans? If you join us and fight beside us, I will gladly turn over their lands to be ruled by your men. With the promised equipment for twelve hundred men."

"You will give us the arms, or your men will burn at dawn. And the Gold Masks deal with their own enemies, we have no need of your help. You should go now. You do not have much time to remove your men, and your Andals do not enjoy their capture."

"That much armor and weaponry will not be made by the morning nor will it be made by the morning after. It will take me a long time to have that much weaponry made, as a show of good faith I have brought you another weapon." Jon gets up walks to his horse and removes a bundle that was tied to the saddle, after going back to his seat he uncovers the bundle revealing a magnificent double headed axe about as big as the one the clansmen has on his back he then reaches over to the clansman holding the axe. "Earlier today I saw you fight with the axe you are currently wearing on your back, I thought that this would be an appropriate gift. I had it specially made for one of my more trusted knights and companions, he was not thrilled at loosing this but he accepted that I must take it from him. So I give it to you as a token."

The Clansman seems suitably impressed. "For this show of good faith, I will release one Andal. The rest when you bring the other weapons. Remove your men away from the mountain, and we will know you mean to pay, and your men will not die at sun rise."

"I will remove my men from the mountain when i get back to them. As for the Andal knight that is released I want it to be my brother He is my youngest sibling and my mother would be most displeased if I was to return home without him. As for the weapons and armor I will deliver them personally when they are finished. But if I can ask one thing before I am to go, my men I do not want them to be treated poorly while your arms are being made, will I have your word that they will be treated with respect and as guests rather then prisoners."

"Very well, I will have my men off of your mountain as soon as I return to my camp, and I will ask that the knight being released is also given his clothes and arms back."

"he will be given clothes," The Gold Mask says, before wheeling the garron around, and riding back to the village.
A short while later, the knight who was being used as a messenger is released. He is walking on foot, wearing his surcoat, but without arms or armor. Clannish archers continue to watch Redfort suspiciously from their vantage points.

Lord Jon picks up his spear and offers his horse to the knight, they then head back down the mountain. Where he gives the command to clear out he also sends word to the Redfort to start making weapons and arms for twelve hundred men.

Jon thinks to himself 'here we go again' while riding ahead to meet the Chief, before starting up the talking for yet another time. "I have brought the promised ransom, now where is my brother?"

Jon had enough of their demands and thought it was time for some equality here, "No, we will exchange at the same time. I will not let you take the arms when I do not even know that my brother is alive and well. Once my brother and the rest of the knights are here I will hand over the equipment."
