The knight shrugs, "I'm supposed to ride back, if you agree, and then they'll give you time to collect it."

Jon signals to Ser Lothor and Marq, after some discussion they decide that Jon and Lothor will follow the knight with an escort of 50 men, while Marq remains with the army and follows them at a leisurely pace incase something drastic happens.

The knight rides all the way back to the top of the Mountain and the Gold Mask village which takes several additional hours. At the top, Jon can see thousands of Gold Mask warriors, ready for war. They see the fifty knights along the path, and a howl of rage goes up. The naked knight is feathered with arrows, and the Clannish host surges forward towards the 50 knights.

A couple hours later Jon Redfort rides up in sight of the clan village alone. He stops well beyond arrow range and dismounts, Jon then sits down on the ground and takes Aelerion's Foe and lays it in front of him running parallel with the villages walls out of easy reach. It can be seen that he is wearing neither mail nor plate armor in what he hopes will be considered a sign of peace.

There is no reply for several minutes, and Redfort can see the Clansmen running into positions to protect their stockade fence. Eventually, a man, once again naked, rides out on a horse for a ways. when he reaches a place still in arrow range, there is yelling from behind the stockade and he stops the horse.
"They say that the blood price is now arms and armor for 800 men," the man cries, one of Robert's knights. "They say must agree, and to show you agree, you have to withdrawal the men from the base of the mountain. If you do not, they will hang kill us at sunrise."

Jon yells back at him. "Tell their leader that if he comes out to talk to me under peace terms that I will give them arms and armor for 1,000 men"

Jon thinks about the number and calculates it to be roughly 300 Dragons worth of supplies, "So be it I agree with the twelve hundred." He also nods but it is clear he is not pleased with the price.

There is a brief quiet, and the knight rides back inside. After awhile, a man exits the stockade, mounted on a garron, with a gold mask on his face, and long black gnarled hair. He's got bits and pieces of various armor, and a massive axe on his back.
He stops.
"Speak." The man says.

"I have agreed to arm twelve hundred of your men, I sit on the ground with out any armor on my person as a statement of peace. I think that you should show me the same courtesy to dismount. Also we have been told by another clan to the northeast of here that your village has been raiding our land, I ask you if this is true or if me and my men have been led false."
After a little while of thinking Jon also adds
"You also have my brother and some other knights captured my wish is to have them back."

If the man heard the bit about dismounting, he ignored it.
"The Andals stay with us until you have brought us our arms. We did not raid Andals, Andals attack us! Foolish Andals think all Clans are the same! Serve our enemies, and kill my people." The Gold Mask speaks loudly, but does not shout angrily.

"If you are not the clan that attacked us I am sorry for our error, could you tell me of a clan that flies a black banner bearing a red four fingered hand or why another Clan pointed us in your direction to attack? As for my men staying with you until you get your equipment, if that is the case then I will require that some of your men become honored guests of mine so that I know my brother and my men will remain unharmed during the making and deliverance of your arms."
