A room at the castle at Horn Hill. A large room has been cleared and a table prepared for the Lords of the Reach. It has a few jugs of wine but is simply decorated.

Lord Renly walks in. He is a middle age with long grayish black hair. His body is would of once been very athletic but has softened in his old age. He nodded at the Far Reach Lords then took a seat.

Lord Irwyn of Uplands arrives, he looks at Davydd carefully he sniffs delicately at the new arrival, "nice of you to join us Redwyne." "I thought it ample time the Arbor take part in this predicament we all seem to be in." He smiled at Lord Irwyn. Seeing that most had arrived Davydd began. "I have come because this region needs a leader. Lady Hightower is in mourning and at these desperate times, and while I feel for her loss that is the last thing we need. I have raised my ships and will sail to the aid of King's Landing, and if my ships are not needed I will lead my armies to crush the traitors by land of those two factors I am certain, but more than the Arbor's men are needed." "What I ask for is the loyalty of the remaining houses of the Far Reach. Many have not raised their men, and I ask them to do so. With your support I think this can be accomplished." "I also wish to coordinate with Lord Dawnrose on a plan of action. I will lend my aid to him, but even with my ships by sea we seem to be far outmatched. I am at a loss for what we can do in that regard." He motions to Renly and nods at him to acknowledge his presence. "Lord Renly here represents Lord Dawnrose at this council."

Ser Edwyn speaks up. "No point in going to Kings Landing. The place was sacked. Better to deal with the Ironborn."

Lord Varner cleared his throat, "with all due respect to Lord Renly here, but why do we require a Manderlord to sit in on our discussion? And I also can't help but remember a distinct lack of Arbor men at Horn Hill when we took it from the traitor Tarly. It seems curious to me that the one great lord who didn't do any fighting is suddenly complaining about the lack of available troops."

"Assuredly that is what I meant. We must deal with the Ironborn, but how at sea with so little available ships"? Davydd shrugged.
"Simply Lord Varner because we must coordinate with the Mander in order to adequately combat this threat. I see no problem with Lord Renly's presence. We are all loyal supporters of the crown here."
"As for your second question it is a sound one. The Arbor has been biding it's time and rebuilding it's ships. We simply were not ready to assist you at the time, but now we are. I am no coward, so I shall appease you and say that my forces will occupy the front line of the next skirmish. I think such an agreement will show my sincere apology for my absence."
"Another concern arises, and one that I am sure you are all aware of. My wife is the sister to Lord Royce. You most likely think my decision to not offer aid at Horn Hill was due in some way to her urgings, but I assure you it was not. In fact it is my intention to sever my ties to that traitor and ask for a separation from my wife. I will have no more ties to House Royce."

Varner raised his eyebrow, clearly unimpressed.
"Now that Lord Royce is a guest in her graces dungeons that is a most principled stance you've taken Lord Redwyne your to be commended," Varner replied, the sarcasm thick as molasses. "As for cooperation with the Mander, I have no objections, but I thought we were here to talk about issues of internal importance to the Far Reach. And that needs to be decided before anything else."

"Yes of course. That is the primary purpose of this meeting, but as our forces will be cooperating with those of the Mander I do not see the issue."
"Now shall we actually discuss these issues or will the patronization continue? We are making fine progress so far." He says replying with the same sarcasm.

"No, please continue with your patronizing, Lord Redwyne, We're all anxiously awaiting to hear the plan you cooked up while you were sitting on the Arbor and the rest of us were fighting," Varner replied.

Davydd laughed and proceeded on. "Well then my suggestion is that the Shields be retaken first and foremost. A small fleet waits there and one that we can defeat unlike the fleet at White Harbor. We start from there linking my ships and those of House Hightower and the rest of the Reach Lords with the ships of the Mander. Hence Lord Renly's presence."
"As for the Land campaign, we hold Horn Hill as Ser Edwyn is adequately doing. If the Queen calls for our aid we provide it, but until then we simply wait while most of the remaining fighting is done at sea."

"And where exactly do you plan to find the men to crew these ships hmm? Lords Florent, Irwyn, and myself have already committed our troops, along with most of the landed knights. What's left of them is the men you saw as you rode in here. The only man who has troops to committ is you Lord Redwyne. You're like a man with a with half a capon in his hand, asking if he might share my bowl of brown."

"I have men to crew my own ships yes. I only ask for men able to crew the remaining ships of the Far Reach. My ships will make up the majority of the forces. Without the extra ships I cannot ensure our victory."
"And last I checked Lord Varner the majority of the troops that actually committed to the siege were from Oldtown itself. You may profess your ultimate commitment to the 'cause', but I think your words are empty." He stared daggers at him.
"Now I have shown you courtesy during this council so I ask that you show me the same courtesy, and not insult my honor again."
