"Very well. House Hightower and House Redwyne will man the ships." He nods.

"And who are you to say where House Hightower will or won't march? Appointing yourself Regent already hmm?" Varner asked with upturned eyebrow.

"I know not...but if my intuition serves correct Lady Hightower will not object. Would you disagree"?

"Lady Hightower is quite distraught at present, and I would not calculate that she is prepared to make the wisest possible decision in the interest of the Far Reach. The reality is that we would still require a regent, since after all this is not Dorne."

"Still, she controls the troops of House Hightower and no man here does. We will need a reagent of course, and unless you all are prepared to decide on it here and now we will have to wait to see who that man is."
"I have put my own name forward ,and proposed a marriage between my own house and House Hightower. However, it will ultimately fall to the Crown to name their reagent. Without the crown's support no man will rule."

"It has always been the policy of the Far Reach to hold a conclave to elect a Regent, and to propose that candidate for the Queen under unanimous approval. Do you propose we give up our independent traditions Lord Redwyne?" Varner glared.

"I do." Davydd shot back.
"Lady Hightower should have the choice. The Hightower's still hold the regency, and whatever man she so chooses should be the Lord. It will hopefully be the man who proves himself most capable."

"The Hightowers are the Lord Paramounts, not the regent. You seem to forget this is not the first time we've been left without a Lord Paramount. This realm was ruled by Regents more often than not, and in every single case in history, that regent was a man picked by his peers through election. And you want to throw that all away, for your own ambition. Frankly I am disgusted by your behavior, Lord Redwyne. And I think we've said all that needs to be said."
He eyed his bannerlord Irwyn, and Irwyn's cousin Florent, before walking out of the room.

Davydd shook his head. He turned to the rest of the Lords.
"If you feel the same way I believe this council will end. We are safe for the time being and there is time to discuss the matter of regency at another time. After the skirmish at the Shields we will decide who is the man truly worthy of the cause because of his deed's and NOT because of his marital ties." He emphasized.

Irwyn says nothing but stands when Varner does and follows behind him when he leaves.

Ser Lewys gave Lord Varner a respectful nod as the man rose and left, and then he turned to look at the others still left in the council room. As his cousin stands up and leaves the room as well, he shook his head toward Lord Redwyne.
"I thought we lived by diffrent standards here in the Far Reach. You sound more like a Mander lord, I would expect this hunger for power from one of them."
He then stands up and leaves the room as well.

Renly was shocked by what this Florent Heir said and would of demanded satisfaction from the man had he not fled the room.
"Will if that is settled I shall return to Highgarden."
