Well after the Queen and the Agent of Thaddeus Thatcher leave Lemonwood, Rowan, Jeyne and a group of twenty Queen's guard leave the keep to try and follow them to where the manse is. Rowan and Jeyne ride in the lead while the rest of the men follow farther behind.

"Looks as if she came this way," Rowan said to Jeyne pointing at the tracks they had been following for the last few miles. "I can't believe you let the queen talk you into going alone. She must be as difficult to protect as King Rodrick."

Jeyne shrugged.
"The queen is my friend but also my mistress. It is my duty to accept her decisions as well as to guard her. I cannot protect her from her own intentions even if I wish to do so. Besides, she dealt with Thatcher once befoer and he did her no harm. He's caused much trouble, I know, but it seems that he wishes Rhaenys to keep her throne. I am thankful for that and you should be too, now that you are a member of her inner circle. Don't worry too much, my lord. Thatcher has had enough opportunities to cause us worse trouble than he already has. I think the situation isn't as bad as you seem to believe."

Rowan answered the shrug with a shrug, "its true you can't help someone who doesn't want help. . . and Thatcher is a curious breed, very curious, too curious almost. . . its more nerve wracking because his motives are so well hidden." Rowan returns his gaze to the trail.
"Looks like they made a turn here," he said pointing to a bend in the river. "Seem to be following the river pretty closely."

"Yes. Didn't Her Grace say the house was right by the river?"

"She said she didn't know where it was although it was on this side of the Greenblood," Rowan said.

"Oh. Well, I don't suppose it really matters. Wer will just have to manage as best we can. You know it might be as well for me to have my arrows ready. We may need to shoot Thatcher down."

"Agreed, once the Queen is safely out we can see how close we can get to the manse and wait for the bugger to come out. I figure we send half the men to cordon off the manse in case he's got any secret tunnels, while you and I sit and wait for him. If he shows his face we both take a shot and then signal the rest of the men to come in and finish the job."

"Good idea," Jeyne said. "Best be careful though. We can only shoot if it is safe to do so. Stranger damn him, the bastard is trouble."

They arrive at the manse. It lies between the road and the river. There are three sheds in a line along the river. Across the road is a large orchard of apples, and across the river lies a small hamlet.
Besides the two horses of the Queen and the agent, it looks abandoned.

Rowan looks for a place where he can get a clear view of the manse but is hidden as best he sneaks around to the apple orchard and then waits.

Jeyne waits nearby, concealed in a different tree with her longbow ready to use.

As the two wait word is sent to the remaining Queen Guard to watch the skies for a flaming arrow shot that will signal when they should approach the manse.

Eventually, Jeyne spotted a movement at one of the manse's widows. She got ready to shoot.
