Rowan shook his head, "my father forbid it when he was alive and when he was dead the war was already over. . . though with the kingdoms' history I am sure there will be more then tourney jousting soon enough. . . good luck with the rest of your events and if by some miracle we meet in the sword competition try not to kill me," he smiled.

Edmure nodded, "I promise that I shall spare your life but it would not be fair if I went easy on you. Also trust me Lord Trant my hands are suited to the blade then a lance."

Rowan smiled "yes, I know your reputation with the sword, but how are you with your cups?" Rowan said with a laugh, "I hope you'll let me test your mettle when the tourney is over."

"I would be honoured to drink along side you. I'll bring the wine you supply the place to drink."

"Excellent," Rowan said "I am staying at Lord Baratheon's Manor perhaps I can convince him to throw another party, the first one was quite the rave."

Rowan sighed and walked away towards the exit of the Limp, two events down, archery, the sword and melee to go, he thought to himself. Sometimes Rowan wondered if he tried to do too much, but then who knew when the next tourney would be.

The queen sent one of her people to summon Lord Trant to her.
"My lord!" She cried. "I have here the deeds to your prize."
She waved the document at him. It had yet to be filled in which particular keep was his; that was to be decided later but her scribe had entered Lord Trant's name on the blank document.
"I also have the Queen of Beatuy's laurel for you to name the Queen of Love and Beauty," she said, offering the crown of flowers and leaves.

Rowan bows, "Your grace, I am not sure which one is the finer honor," he laughs, "although having to choose just one woman may bring me more hardship then reward."

Rhaenys laughed prettily.
"Yet choose you must, my lord. it is the custom. If I, who was born and raised in Sothorys must follow the customs, how much more important is it for you, who has always lived here, to set a good example for those of us who are less familiar with the customs?"

Rowan nodded, "is there anything in the customs that says whether or not I can ask for help? I am not sure I know that many ladies, and any help your Grace could provide in the matter would be wise council."

"No assistance is permitted as far as I know," Rhaenys commented. "It is usually the custom to name yoru wife or betrothed, if you have one, or else you might name some lady of high birth if you have no true preference."

Rowan nodded, "then I will have to think about it, as I am unmarried and not engaged. I do have until the end of the Tournament. . . correct your Grace?" Rowan says.

Well, not really," Rhaenys said. "You are supposed to know at once, my lord. It's not a serious matter, jts a bit of fun."

Rowan sighs, "of course your Grace, then none will fault me in naming yourself, as the true Queen of Love and Beauty," Rowan says offering the Laurel back to her. Rowan might have been young, but he wasn't an idiot, and if he had to choose now he was going to choose the one most capable of kicking his ass in a sword fight or assigning him Red Keep Latrine Duty.
