"Then please see to it," Jeyne nodded. "And we will ride out to inspect the land tomorrow. But I think we are done for today, Master Turngood. Thank you for being so helpful."

"Queens Crossing," Marina experimented. "There could be nothing more fitting."

"I'm well aware of that," Jeyne said. "I do not expect this palace to take less than ten years, and the town as well."
"I know," Selyse said to Marina dreamily. "It seems perfect to me."

The red cloaks admitted him into the audience chamber, where Jeyne sat with some of her women. She smiled and greeted her kinsman. "Ser Axel," she nodded. Jeyne had rarely seen Ser Axel Lannister, but had heard of him.

"Your Grace," Axel said, bowing, and straightening again with his most charming smile, " I have come to pay my respects to our beautiful new queen. I apolgise for not arriving in time for your wedding, I was... delayed." He grinned.

"I am honored, ser," Jeyne smiled back. One of the sleek, longhaired dogs padded over to sniff at the newcomer curiously. "Come and sit down. I had been curious indeed as to why you were not present for the wedding. What were these delays?"

"I had taken ill along the journey from Castamere, and was forced to stay longer than I intended in an inn. Had not all the strength been taken from my limbs by the sickness I assure you I would have been here. But I am much recovered now, and able to serve the Crown however I am needed."
"And how does being queen suit young Jeyne Lannister? I suppose having been the Maiden of Casterly Rock you are no stranger to the attention."

"Was it a sickness you caught in Dorne?" Jeyne asked, as her maid laid out a bowl of warm salted nuts. "My lady mother and my uncles told me you had fought bravely at Hellholt, and I'm proud that one of my kin distinguished himself in the Dornish War. It pleases me to see you looking healthy."
She smiled at his question and said lightly, "I have able people to aid me. I do what makes me happy, which is helping people and building things to help the people of this city. Now, what can I do for you, ser? Are you going to be tarrying long in King's Landing, or will you return to your lord father at Castamere?"

Ser Mychel stood in the room, eyeing the newcomer, a Lannister of Castamere. He had been appointed from among his sworn brothers to be the Queen's personal shield and sword. It was only fitting, since they were kin afterall, and he had taken to his duties immediately, happy at being able to play the dotting uncle as well as protector.

"Ser Mychel," Jeyne said in a gentle, affectionate voice. "Have you met Ser Axel before, at Castamere."

"No, your grace, I have never been to Castamere. I'm rather fond of the song about it, but that is the most of my experience," he said with a grin.

"Your Grace is kind to say so, but no, not a Dornish sickness, it came upon me while travelling through the Riverlands."
"I may stay a time in the Landing, my Queen, it has been a long time since I have been here."
Axel turned to look at the Kingsguardsman. "No, I do not believe we have had the opportunity to meet before. Ser Axel, at your service."
