The Bloody Gate is the great fortress that guards the only navigable pass through the Mountains of the Moon into the Vale of Arryn. It is commanded by the Knight of the Bloody Gate, a title of great honor amongst the Vale's chivalrous.

Moving forward from the gate is Ser Ioun Redfort. He has a scar on his face since the last time he say Ser Selwyn, "Well, well, well. What have we here?"

"We retook it from the Wights. It nearly cost me my sight." Ioun touched the new scar on his face. "Your Father is at Harrenhal waiting for the King."

"Is the Vale fully secured?" he asked, frowning at the mention of Harrenhal. "How is Runestone?"

Selwyn frowned. "Is my father well? You said he was at Harrenhal, but that makes little sense. Is that cursed fortress not Thatcher's stronghold?"

"It is not. He went there to help dispose of Thatcher. The West, Dorne and Maester men appear to have rode there as well. It is a black storm waiting to happen." He replied dryly.

Selwyn nodded, with a frown. "Officially Aaron sent me here to see if any of the Vale's knights were fit to ride to the riverlands, to meet with the King's army when it comes south of the Neck."

"Aye, that is what we should be doing. Hopefully by the time they reach the capital this fool of a Queen will have realized her place and his grace shall take up his crown as he should. Can you spare me a few men, so I don't have to go back completely empty handed?" Selwyn asked.

"I can not. I was ordered to keep the rest of the men close." He sighed apologetically, "Lord Royce fears a trick by Thatcher."

"Fair enough. I shall seek out my father and brother on the morrow, but for now my knights and I will rest here, if there is space," he said to Ser Ioun.
