"As you say my queen." Said Perestan and bowed "I will do as much as I can. Have a fine day, Your Grace." he said and left the tent

Talyn Thatcher arrived at the Queen's tent, dressed in a padded cloth tunic, and breeches. He has a dagger in his belt, but surrenders it to the guard immediately upon approaching.
"I would speak with her grace on a matter of some urgency," he told the nearest one.

He was allowed in but the Queensguard, Ser Bryan Storm, remained with her. They'd never spoken so Rhaenys was cautious.
"Good day, ser," she said, standing. "What is this urgent matter?"

Many of Queen Rhaenys' petitioners had a problem with kneeling. Talyn Thatcher had no such compunction. The sellsword knight dropped to his knees as if felled by an axe.
"It's her highness, Princess Kyma. She's been kidnapped." Talyn spoke quickly to prevent being interrupted before getting his word out.
"Her highness was in the vanguard camp since fleeing Castle Black. You see, I came upon her on the road returning from giving a report to Lord Selwyn. She asked my aid in escorting her safely to Winterfell, and I agreed. She told me of her disagreement with your grace, and convinced me to help her. While your search party was disrupting the camp, Cult appears to have grabbed her." Talyn laid a small note on the ground in front of him, so that the Queen's aides could take it to her.
"What I did I did not do as a slight to your grace, but as friendship to her highness. And I understand if you require my head for it. But I urge you to let me assist you in recovering her highness before delivering the punishment I deserve."

She looked at him, angry and disappointed and scared for her sister. There was worry for herself too, now that she had promised Lord Lannister that Kyma would marry his son.
"Some would say I should take your head for this," she said. "But you are useful to me and to the realm. Lord Selwyn sets much store by your skills. That being so, you may keep your head, provided you assist me in fetching Kyma back. If she dies, you die."

Talyn nodded, "If she dies, I would not wish to live. What would you have me do your grace?"

"Find her, you fool!" Rhaenys snapped. "We'll play along with these cultists and take her back. But...one moment. You deliberately concealed my sister from Borcas Redwyne and his search party?"

"I allowed Ser Borcas and his party to search my camp, your grace. I did not take any steps to interfere with them that were not in accordance with my orders from Lord Selwyn regarding camp security," Talyn said, not deigning to raise his head from the floor.

Rhaenys felt her anger grow at this admission. She had hoped it a mistake of some kind and yet that wasn't so. The betrayal festered inside her,
"Yet still you concealed my sister from them, when you must have known full well that Borcas is my own sworn man and Jeyne a member of my Queensguard. Why?"

"Because I gave your sister my word your grace. She did not wish to be found, and I intended to honor that wish as best I could. I thought that if her highness was with me, than at least she would have someone nearby to protect her. If I was to refuse to help her, I reasoned, she would have headed south alone and without assistance. My reasoning may have been wrong, and I accept that, but know that it was not out of ill-intentions," Talyn said.

"I understand that," Rhaenys answered, annoyed that she did. "Nevertheless, you concealed a woman's wherabouts from her own sister. Your queen, ser. That is treason. And, to make matters a thousand time worse, your disobedience has cost my sister her freedom and placed us at the mercy of this 'Straw Man'. There must be some reparation. don't you agree?"

Talyn shrugged with apparent disinterest, "I am interested only in Princess Kyma's safety. What happens to me is inconsequential next to that. I own a tent, a chain mail hauberk, a flail, a dagger and my life. And they are all yours if you want to take them from me."

After a moment's thought, Rhaenys held out her hand.
"Give me your dagger."

Talyn didn't pick his head up. "Your guard has it already your grace. I would not dare come into your presence armed."

She noded and took the weapon from the guard.
"Hold him still," she said, as she faced Talyn with the dagger in her hand.
"I don't want your belongings, nor do I want your life, yet, but I do want your blood. Don't move."
The knife slashed down, cutting a tin red line in his cheek. Blood spilled from the wound and dripped down the knife blade as Rhaenys looked at Talyn.
"You will remember that your life belongs to me now," she told him.
