A small town has sprung up around Driftmark's harbor. The outline of Castle Driftmark can be seen in the distance.

Stafford Mallister has siezed the docks with little effort following the victory over Barclay's fleet. The docks are a bustle of activity as men come ashore and the wounded are tended to. The Master of Ships has taken a large two-story building in the center of the town for his personal use.

A bloody and battered Evander Storm is dragged ashore by men in the smokey-grey of House Marbrand, his green eyes still shining with defiance although he is in chains. He is propped up against a wall and given a sip of water.
Lord Marbrand walks across to talk to the man who wounded Lord Lannister and killed several of his men, his face grim. He regards the man before him silently and inquistively for a few moments.
"Bastard blood begets bastard acts," he begins slowly. "You may be a traitor Ser, but it must be said you fight well, and with courage." He speaks not with reverence but with the notion that he is merely stating fact.
"You knew that this was a lost cause." The statement is framed as a question.

Evander Storm does not reply for some time. "It was a just cause," he finally responds, "And Rodrick has made it clear he has no room for those of us who were friends with the Dondarrions."

Dudley shakes his head with a grim smile. His face furrows up and he looks like he is going to say something, but then he would appear to think of something that makes him stop. He sighs and then nods to one of the militia guarding Evander. He then leaves to join Lord Mallister and the other significant personnel, hoping to find Lord Velaryon amongst them. There are plans to be made.

Dudley enters alone and is the first major name other than Lord Mallister to arrive at the invasion headquarters.
"My Lord," Dudley greets Lord Mallister with a bow. "My congratulations on the successes you have lead us to so far. Morale amongst my men is high, they believe we shall be done here soon and with great glory." He smiles and stands back a little to allow other men to enter into the room, excitedly awaiting the entrance of Lord Velaryon whom he has not seen since the battle.

Lord Dudley smiled as the young man entered. A genuine smile. From his point of view, House Dawnrose had very little reason to involve itself so heavily in this operation. He was incredibly thankful that they had decided to do so however. It made the probability of Lord Velaryon's eventual success just that little bit more secure.

Lord Mallister nods as the last of the lords enter the room. "I am confident," he begins, "That we would be successful in storming Driftmark. But with Barclay captured and his fleet smashed, there seems little point. I want a volunteer to go and treat with Barclay's castellan and convince him to surrender. Many of you were in a similar position to his, not so long ago. Perhaps he will see reason."

Dudley nodded in a way that said this is the right and honourable route to take. He looked thoughtful for a moment, considering who would be the right man for this job. Clearly Mallister had aimed his last statement at Monterys, and on this he mused.
