Targaryen's are a red herring, those characters exist to draw power hungry PC's into a time waster. Any Prince will do as he will need a regent, the problem is also that the whole house stinks. There are probably 50 bastards that could be found in the whore houses of Kings Landing that could claim some relation to Rodrick.

Unfortunately the next candidate for the throne is Breck Dondarrion, and we don't trust him as far as we could throw him.

Hehe, I see the dilemma.
Seems to me, OOC, the only real option is to strike out on our own. Yes, we may lose allies, but that seems better than any other option.
IC, independence isn't an option. So we MUST support A candidate. Rodrick won't do. If his son takes after him, then that's out of the question. Dondarrion may be the only option; perhaps a marriage to his heir, or something, to give the Far Reach a future claim?

I was saying that it doesn't matter which prince we support since any candidate would have a regent. It would buy us a few years of peace though that is all unless we have another timejump.

Well then, I say we just grab as much of the Mander as we can. :-)

I don't think we can realistically keep any Mander territories we seized because of geography. They aren't contiguous with the rest of the far reach and so are indefensible.

What exactly makes up the far reach? Everything south of Highgarden?

Yes. The border is a basically straight line from where the Mander river bends to go to the sea, all the way to Horn Hill.

There must be some way to expand... my vote would be for the Shield Islands and Old Oak, especially if Highgarden could also be taken. Of course, I know nothing, but those look the most viable to my inexperienced eyes.

The problem is Jayk that there is no tradition of the ruling the Reach from Oldtown. People, even in the Far Reach, are used to swearing to Highgarden, but not the other way around. its unlikely we could keep them loyal for any length of time.
Expansion isn't really something that we need to be interested in doing.

The tradition was that Targaryens sat on the Iron Throne. Now its Baratheons :-) I guess it just seems strange that our only real neighbour is far more powerful than us, and we can do nothing about it... especially since it seems as if the Mandermen will fight us now.

Luckily the mandermen are a bunch of retarded pussies. Would it be worth trying to set some ambushes for them? Tallahar never says his men travel with scouts out in front.

I have infilitrated some men into their camp. so I can set fire to their tents and cut their horse lines when we do a sally, hopefully injury them pretty badly.

I was thinking of setting a trap when they marched. What if we burned the bridges coming into the Mander which caused them to ford and we poured some oil or something flamable into the river and ignited it when they were crossing and then attack the small portion on our side and then run away back to our lines?
That is just an idea I am sure we could do something else also.

Well the only thing is I want them to get onto our side of the river so that the Iron Born can land and take them from behind.
