Danwell listened carefully to Gawyn's report as he returned "She didn't mention numbers or anything like that?" he replied "If they're still here then why wasn't there anyone guarding the gates? Maybe they're at the harbour" he half murmured to himself. "Where was this woman?" he asked

Patrek looked around uneasily with a hand on his axe. "Do you see anything, Brandon?" he asked. Brandon shook his head and fingered one of the small vials of lamp oil he had in his pocket.

The streets are largely deserted. There did not seem to be any enemy patrols, nor civilians, although they could feel frightened eyes watching from shuttered windows from the streets above.

Brandon walked closer to one set of frightened eyes, "When do you think they will return?" he asked softly.

Maxwell had his bow out but not drawn. He was on edge and didn't like the feel of this place. He could feel the eyes on him and the stench was the worst, Mixture of grief ,desperation ,and death.

I tried to coax her out, but she was hysteric. Seems to think our being here puts everyone in danger." He paused then, and a haunted look came over his face. "I have an idea, sir, if you'd like to hear it. I could try and see...well, I'm not sure i'd like to see...but I think I can make sure of the enemies position before we move. Without endangering the men. There's plenty of vermin around, that I could, use, if you know what I'm getting at, commander..." he trailed off.

Maxwell looks up and sees a flock of birds take flight from one of the streets. While the others are talking he just ties his horse to a post. Taking his bow he quietly stalks off towards the disturbance.

The Dornishman have found what appears to have once been a large inn -- looted, gutted, and abandoned, but still intact. As Maxwell rounds the corner he notices a man slip inside.

The sillhouettes of men with bows appear in the second story windows, watching. The man who entered the door curses under his breath. "Be quiet, you fool," he hisses, then adds, "And get in here before someone sees you!"

Maxwell walks into the house and puts his bow over his back. He then loosens his dagger in his belt. "What do you want",Max whispers.

Danwell twisted his face - he disliked such ephemeral things like 'magic' and distrusted it. "Well if you can Gawyn that would be...useful" he said grudgingly "But I'll also post some lookouts just in case. Maxwell, can you go and..." Danwell looks around in puzzlement. "Where's Maxwell?"

A man quickly closes the oaken door behind Maxwell. Others place their hands on the hilts of their own weapons. Five men are in the room, clad in nondescript clothing. One appears to be their leader, a lean older man, his skin bronzed by the sun. He is frowning right now. "Do you live in this city, boy?"
