"I can see two possibilities. The first would be an annual tax that would be paid to those rulers for the next fifty years or so to pay for the damages. Or a one time gifting of an appropriate amount of land to the victims." Piers says.
ooc-Lets not get into exact numbers. We do not really have a economic system that would do it justice.

Francis eyes were dead. "1,000,000 Dragons, over 50 years to each. Lord Hewett at Crakehall has done no raiding or looting. The regrettable situation at Nightsong you have a culprit for. Please milords, that price is more than fair."
OOC: Sorry Smith, I posted after you said.

"Well, since they are the victims, would it not be reasonable to see which they prefer?"

"I think the Lord Hand can judge fairly for the both of them, and we needn't complicate this terrible matter any more."

"My guess is that the Lady of Crakehall would prefer the coin, while the Lord of Nightsong would appreciate land to buffer him against the Reach," Rhodri says. "Do you disagree, Lord Piers?"

Piers nods at Rhodri and says, "That is the stick and now it is time for the carrot."

Francis lowered his eyes. Getting one's hopes up was a good way to have them dashed to pieces. Dashed to pieces like the people of the Reach, if he screwed this up. "Lord Hand?"

OOC: That's my OOC approach. Did you just nick that from our chat? ;P
Seth was gravely silent. He would accept the judgement. He blamed himself more than anyone. Had he not gone to Dorne, he might have talked Barret out of both killing himself and demanding independence.

"So if Craych Tyrell is to rule the Mander, and a young Hightower to rule from Oldtown, we may be in need of Regents," Rhodri says. "Any suggestions?"

"For Highgarden, I may I would suggest Lord Falgrave. He gets along well with the Tyrell boy, and he rescued the Lady Lilith, so his loyalty to the crown is not in question... That would be my recommendation there..." Francis eyed Seth to see his reaction.

Seth was a bit surprised. He had been about to say the same for Lord Varner. "I...well, I suppose, as the children's Godfather it would make sense, though I don't particularly like the prospect of leaving Greycopse." He paused. "Though if it is my duty, it will be done. I would suggest you, Lord Varner for Highgarden, but you bring up a good point. I would instead say that you would make a terrific choice for Regent of Oldtown." Turning to Rhodri he remarked, "His skill with numerics and strategy were a welcome surprise to me. I would place no one higher in mind than Lord Varner."
He was being honest, and it showed, though he still thought a little ill of him for his flight from the tent at the unfortunate meeting with Lord Bolton.

"Do you have other Lords in mind, Lord Arryn?" Francis thought he could convince the reach lords to accept those terms. With Bolton and Blackwood and Martell on the march, the need for a successful peace grew.

OOC: Sorry, I'd love to resolve this too, but I want to defer to Piers and he's off. Plus I have a huge assignment I'm trying to work on right now; I'm really only checking the board long enough to know what's going on, not really enough to reply.
IC: "For the north Reach, while Lord Falgrave knows I hold him in high esteem, he might be a bit young to be Regent to young Lord Craych. I was thinking of Lord Rindwynd, himself a Tyrell, who never joined the rebellion. I am not suggesting Lord Falgrave go unrewarded for his efforts; in fact, I would be happy to listen to his suggestions. I consider myself in his debt for my naunt's freedom."
"For the South Reach, I was going to suggest you, Lord Varner. I believe you have the necessary skills, and Stoatheart is not far from the Honeywine. Perhaps we can also convince Lord Tallahar to donate some his lands to yours...afterall, he is in a poor position for negotiations right now."
