"Approximately 5 or 6 thousand men, and 18 ships, with their crews." Francis says, quickly.

"Well, mi'lord Hand, you know I prefer to speak in riddles and half-truths. But, for you, I will get right to it. Gentlemen, there have been a couple proposals. The Reach is vast and powerful, powerful enough that men have vain, mad dreams. Too much power for a single man. Some would take bites of the Reach for themselves; lands to Dorne, lands to the Westerlands, lands to the Riverlands, thus weaken it." "Another suggestion, less dramatic, would be to forge two realms from the one. Name a Lord Paramount, or Regent, for the Mander Valley, and another for the Honeywine. This would divide Highgarden and Oldtown, putting a Lord in each." www.westeros.org/Citadel/Gallery/Entry/778/

Seth shook his head sadly. "Things have gone very sour."

OOC: That last comment was to Varner.
"The second option seems the best. I can imagine the hardship from giving pieces to other lands. The people would most likely not take to this well."

"I will be honest, Lord Arryn, it sickens me to think of the land divided. But she will not accept foreign rulers, I can assure you of that. Reachmen are Reachmen just as Valemen are Valemen, and it would be a bloody business keeping down even a little bite. So i fear splitting her may be our option, if this is a point on which you will not budge."

"Maybe a reconciliation can be disucssed further down the river of time, but at this time we are decided." Piers replies.

"Examples will have to be made as well," Rhodri says, moving on, without indicating which of the two divisions he prefers. "Some will take the black, others shall be executed. Of the leaders still living. Of men who signed the declaration."

Seth lowered his head at Rhodri's words. Nasty business. He felt sorry for those that had signed it.

"And their descendants, shall they be spared, or do you judge the taint of treason such that it passes from father to son?" Francis had no children, but he knew men who did. And since they were not here to plea and cry, Francis would take their part.

Rhodri glances at his missing hand. "The taint of treason can be washed away with sacrifice. We will not be murdering children. Some may lose their lands, but you will see leniency in many cases."

"There will need to be reparations paid. The rulers of Crakehall, and Nightsong lost a grat deal of revenue and people. This must be made right." Piers says offhandedly.

"Reparations, yes." Seth responded, still deep in his own thought. "How would you have it done?"

Francis sighed, this was getting expensive. Not as expensive as war you fool, he counseled himself, and his face showed resignation.
"Perhaps the Lord of the Northern Reach can pay for Crakehall, and the Lord of the Southern Reach can pay to Nightsong? Say 6,000 Gold Dragons, that's close to one disrupted season for a profitable land."

"6,000 dragons? I won more in the tourney. I think at least twice as much, if not three times as much. The Reach is very profitable. Harm was done to people, and we are responsible, if indirectly."
