"Please have a seat. What did you travel all this distance for." Trevor's smile is warm, but very tired.

"I am here to discuss Far Reach Relations with Dorne. Tensions are running high, I'm sure you've noticed." she stated, noting his thinly veiled fatigue--the sign of a man much harried and often hassled.

Tarly nods, "Yes they are. Would you like something to drink? Some wine perhaps?"

"That would be lovely." She smiled stoically. "Whatever sort you have on-hand will be perfect, I'm sure."

Rising from his seat he walks over to a table where several glasses and two bottles of wine sit. He pours out two glasses of wine and walks back bringing the wine bottle back also. Setting a glass infront of her he asks, "Was the travel difficult? Sunspear and Oldtown look so close on the maps, but I know the actual distances involved."

Tristeza swirled the wine in the glass he had handed her--she intended not to drink it...though she had no specific reason t distrust Tarly, she did have many a reason to distrust the human race as a general rule. "It proved to be much faster than anticipated by sea--we had planned to take the pass, but decided that it was a risk not worth taking...We were lucky on the water. I had heard the Ironborn were prowling, but we saw not an inkling of them en route from Starfall. It was as good a joruney as one could ask during these times." she summarized finally. "And how have affairs been in the Far Reach?" she inquired, sounding perhaps less interested in the answer than she truly was.

"The Ironborn are prowling. A large force of their's went around the Arbor." Tarly smiles seemed to wilt off his face, "I have people on all sides screaming for me to listen to them. And I am being forced to make decisions that will affect the course of all our Realms. It is damn tiring."

"Of that, I am certain you speak truly." she confessed sincerely, in a low voice. "Though, Lord Tarly, I am woe to add to your troubles, I am afraid I must ask of you to contemplate one more position." Tristeza admitted to the Lord Regent slowly, and with all of the diplomatic sympathy she could find to stir her voice. "My Lady Princess has asked me to come here on her behalf to ask you your feeling on Dorne." she finished, confident that her speech had been eloquent enough, at the least.

Taking a long sip from his wine glass Tarly looked at her, and then asked, "Do you have any children Lady Martell?"

"None." she replied stone-faced, caught off guard by his inquiry, but determined to cope gracefully with whatever was thrown at her. "Why do you ask, Lord Tarly?"

"I have four boys and one baby girl. My wife died birthing her." Tarly replied, then he shook his head to clear it and continued. "I am the master of my house, but when Ander, my firstborn, demands pies for dinner; we have pies. Not because I want pies, but because it is easier to let me have what he wants then it is to bicker over food choices. Do you understand?"

"I am sure you are right, Lord Tarly--But being a parent to children, and being the Lord paramount of one of the great seven kingdoms can surely not be the same?" She suggested politely. "Regardless, your Lordship, I mean not in any way to insult your method, but I am afraid that I do not see how this example related to Dorne."

"I do not want war. Lady Martell, the thoughts of men who serve me dying to pick one regent or another sickens me." Tarly shook his head, "But my children are pushing me towards a war. And I worry one will throw a tantrum before I am ready."

"Perhaps we have reached a point where war has become inevitable." Tristeza suggested solemnly, with no great relish in her words. "The question I am here to ask you, Lord Tarly, at the risk of being entirely too frank for this diplomatic process, is whose side you will be on..? Do I look upon an ally, or an enemy?"

"I have many voices in my ear, Lady Martell and not one is advising me to aid the Dornish." He ran his hand threw his thick, dark hair. "And I have heard that the Mander marches for Prince's Pass."
