Evander calls out to Moax as he rubs his eyes. "I didn't come here to analyze my vision, Moax! Isn't there more to learn?"

There is no answer, and Evander becomes convinced that he is now alone in the lightless room.

He finds what he thinks is the exit, only to find that the door will not budge. It must be locked from the outside.

"Hello?", Evander calls as he pushes up against the door. He starts calling out for anyone but eventually falls asleep when exhaustion takes the better of him.

A slot is opened several hours later, and a small simple bowl of brown stew can be seen in the limited light which pierces the darkness. As soon as Evander is able to get his hands around the spoon, the slot is slammed shut again.

Evander wraps his hands around the bowl of brown stew...and plunges the spoon into it. The stew is far from appetizing, but as hungry as he was-- it didn't matter any more. He pictured himself eating at a fine dinner with the Lords of Stonehelm, his lordly cousins. In his mind he was eating from a fine stew cooked by the best of Stonehelm's kitchen.
In reality the stew tasted half like shit.

Several more hours pass. Eventually the slot opens, the bowl is taken, the slot closes, and than is reopened, more stew enters, and the slot closes again.
This goes on, for what Evander believes to be 8 stews. Assuming two meals a day, it has been four days.

Evander starts to hallucinate on the 4th day with little light. He eats the first stew, but when it is time for the second one he has doesn't touch it. He crawls back into a corner of the room and starts to visualize R'hllor standing in front of him, a fiery personification of the living God of light.

R'hllor appears as a giant man/god, in splendid flickering red vestments... that is, until Evander's vision clears, and he sees the wall to his prison has lowered, and a wall of flame stands before him, flames 10 feet high, and from one wall to the other. On the other side of the flames, he can see sunlight.

Evander mutters the name of his god before slowly making his way across the floor to the other side of the prison. He looks around at the flames and the light of the sun. He smiles widely.

The heat of the fire seems unbearable, Evander struggles to resist the urge to retreat back into the prison.

Sweat begins to drip in a steady flow down Evander's back from his head. He looks around for anyone. "Hello?", he says. "What have I stumbled into?"

Evander attempts to look into the fire for images of the future, but after a minute the flames are simply too much to stare into.
