Evander waits outside again for an hour before knocking on the door and asking for Moax. He is frustrated and sweaty, not to mention exhausted.

The red priest nods, and leads him inside, through the poweful heat of the sauna, through a door, into complete blackness. His foot trips over a block, or something of the like in his path, and suddenly he realizes his monk escort has disappeared. He is in total, and utter blackness.

"Hello? Moax", says Evander, frustrated and getting desperate.

The room was empty of all sound except the echo of Evander's voice. Then there was the scrap of metal on metal, and a beam of light no thicker than Evander's wrist shone down into the room. Evander, whose eye's had just began to adjust to the absence of light, is again plunged into total darkness as his eyes struggle to adjust. It is than that he feels a whack on the head with a heavy wooden staff.
"Light belongs to Rh'llor, but when is enlightened only a little, that is when it is most blind to the truth."
It is Moax's voice, but Evander can not see him.

"Oww", the bastard says as he rubs his head with a sore hand. He felt the floor around him and when he felt he had a fair idea of what was near him he took a seated position. "I understand", he then said, waiting for Moax to reply.

More light floods the room, enough to hurt Evander's eyes. He instinctively shades his eyes.
"Very wise... for the unenlightened to look directly into the wisdom and greatness of Rh'llor's truth would be to be blinded forever. Ours is a God of both Light, and shadow. Without the Light there can be no shadow. But the shadow can help us... understand the reality of the light." Moax is sitting in a unadorned red robe and yellow belt, like that of any of the normal monks. He is seated on the floor, so that he is actually slightly below Evander, and looking up at him.

Evander eyes him with curiosity, but does his best to maintain a stone faced appearance. "Light and Shadow. They must coexist or they won't exist at all."

Moax whacks the bastard hard on the ankle with his cane.
"That's what I said. Think about what you say, don't just repeat me like one of those birds from the Summer Isles."

"It's a way to remember it...to say it for myself", Evander says as he recoils from the hit. After this he says nothing though, and continues to listen.

"Yes, sounds reverberate, its true. But be wary, for sound travels furthest in the cold of night, and can reveal what even the Good Lord of Light has cloaked in shadows. These are dark times for the truth and fiery faith, and the fire which burns brightest is soon snuffed out, unless well fueled.. of course. But a thousand candles, that will light the darkness, well enough to guide the path of him who is to come."

Him who is to come?, Evander thought to himself, excited by the topic. He remained as stone faced as could still, and remained listening all the while.

Moax sighs heavily. "Speak speak. But useful thoughts, or you'll get the cane again. The Lord of Light burns away all useless blather, until only the truth remains."

"I only wanted to know...", Evander began, "of the prophecy of Azor Ahai. What is his story?"
