Moax stands, and makes a gesture at Evander, and there is an explosion around his feet, followed by intense heat which lasts only a second.
"Smoke and noise, a big flash, and than nothingness forever. Is that what you wish to be? You must begin with kindling or your fire will never alight and grow strong to outlast the long darkness.. Azor Ahi is the Lightbringer, you know this much. He wielded his sword against the Enemy, and drove them back, and he will do it again, just as the sun rises after dark."

"I accept that as the truth. Continue though with the teaching as you would, I understand what you mean."

"If you can accept it, than it is not truth, or you do not understand it. One's will should rebel against truth, until it has been... properly melded by the hot proximity of the Lord of Light's power, and reshaped into understanding."

Evander nodded.

"You said you saw a vision, in the fire yesterday. Tell me what you saw?"

"I saw a dark bird, a crow or a raven whispering into the ear of a young dragon. If I had seen this a year ago I would have said that the crow was Horas Blackwood, but he is dead now. I assume the dragon represents a Targaryen though, I've heard rumors that they are living in Braavos."

"That seems a very base assumption," said Moax, in a bored tone. "Why do you presume that the Lord of Light speaks in the common heraldry of your tiny realm? The world is much larger, and He must light it all."

"I have a very base understanding of heraldry, friend. I'm a bastard born, not a scholar."

"But the entire basis of your interpretation is that the crow represents someone who, according to you, is identified as this crow. And the association with the Targayen kings with the dragon is both obvious, but of questionable value. In a crowded market, you may hear a man you do not know yell out, and it may seem like a phrase you recognize, yet when you reply to him, you realize he was not speaking your language at all, but another, foreign language, and you had simply heard what you wanted to hear."

"Then who is to speak of objective truth? How can we formulate any theories if we don't make a single assumption?"

"The Lord of Light speaks the truth, whole and glorious. But you must see the truth for what it is, without assumptions. Pray to Rh'llor that he may grant you the understanding you seek. You will know when you have found it. Did you, for instance know, that the dragon is one of the most blessed of the Lord's creatures, for it is born of and in flames, and propagates them all its life. So perhaps your dragon represents something above and beyond a simple extinguished house of old."

"I did not know this, that is why I came to this temple...to learn of R'hllor. If it was a representation of R'hllor or one of his servants...then there may be reason to fear. I don't believe the crow was acting favorably to the dragon."

"It is difficult to judge the meaning of such a dream. Do they not also call your men of the North, crows? Those who guard against the darkness, and against the servants of the Other?'

"They do indeed, friend. The Night's Watch are called crows, but to think that the Night's Watch is advising R'hllor is a little...demeaning to the God of Light."

"Well than, you already seem to know what you wish to know. Good day master Storm." Moax stands as the panel letting light into the room slams shut, plunging it into total darkness.
