Jamie quieted when Roose started laughing, "I was not laughing with you, but at you." He looks back into the fire. "Go ahead and ask it, so I can send your ass home."

Roose nodded. "Good, a lord needs to be laughed at, and often, or he forgets that he's just a man." He turned his head to look at Jaime. "Where would you have me help?"

"From Winterfell." Bracken replied snappishly.

Roose raised his eyebrow. "The Starks have always been friends of the Watch. When has that changed, and why?"

"When did you start being a Stark?" replied Bracken, "The only thing I hate more then Blackwoods are bastards... well maybe not more then Blackwoods."

"Hate a bastard and you hate a good portion of the Watch."

"They know their place. Every man is crafted for a purpose." Motioning to the dirty iron pokers resting near his roasty fire, "That has much the same weight, and heft of a sword." Turning to look the boy in the eye he adds, "I am not marching into battle with one strapped to my waist though."

"Yes you are." Roose stood, "With as many men as you currently have you might as well be."

"Good, then we both see the same thing." Roose turned to leave, pulling his furry cape back up on his shoulders. "Where was the last reported location of Benjen Stark?"

"To the North" Jamie stood picked up the poker and began to move the logs around the fire. "How many men do you plan on taking to find him?"

"North of Castle Black?" Roose nodded. "About five hundred men. A few Night's Watch guides would be appreciated if you can spare them." He strapped on the sword he had left by the door. "Use the men I have here as you see fit. Strengthen your defenses," he opened the door, "Push Edmure Karstark off the Wall if you have the time."

Bracken turned and in his swing he brought the dirty iron poker singing into Roose's shoulder. "You Bloody Fool!! I sent two more rangings out after the first. No one has come back. I am not wasting another 500 hundred men on a pointless quest!"

The poker bit into Roose's boiled leather, but not his mail. "I mean't five hundred of my own men...." he said flatly, "I only wanted maybe one, if possible two trackers or guides."

"Do you see me out wandering the fucking frozen lands!! No it was my duty to lead theses fucking arses." Jamie screamed hotly.
