"You've come back at an interesting time, Kentyn," Ryan says. "From what my brother writes me, we might be at the brink of war, and we'll need every sword arm we can get."

"As it happens, my lord, my sword arm is the arm which I prefer. My good friend Patrek Cox has accompanied me, and will fight valiantly for house Blackwood as well, if it comes to that. Although, it might be wise to keep a close eye on your wine cellars in the meantime. Do you have order's for me, my lord, or word of my father or the Lord Warren?

"Good," Ryan says. "Lord Warren should be returning soon. Apparently some lord is on trial in the West, and he's staying for that. I'm sure he'll have some task for you when he returns. As to your father... I'm afraid I have not seen him in many months. I couldn't even tell you if he is in the Riverlands."

A letter arrives for Ryan Blackwood.
Dear Ryan, I have been made the new Captain of the Guard for Lord Warren Blackwood. I would like for you to organize 25 good riders and swordsmen, and a suitable leader for them. They will be a small group of horsemen to keep the law in the Riverlands in these tremulous times.
Your cousin, Tytos Blackwood Captain of the Guard

Admitted by the guard at the door, Kentyn strides into his lord's solar. His clothes are dirty, his legs tired from the days ride. He finds his uncle Ryan sitting at a small table, sipping on spiced cider with raisins while reading a letter. "My Lord," Kentyn began, feeling a bit akward. My own uncle, and I don't even know him. I've capture a small party of bandits who admit to raiding the farm folk along the Trident. Dispossessed men, certainly, but honest. I thought perhaps they might be locked up until a time is found to send them to the wall. Unless, of course, my Lord has some other use for them in mind."

Ryan looks up briefly from the letter. At first he seems to be in a daze, then snaps out of it. "Oh, hello Kentyn. Bandits, you say?" Ryan calls out for a guard, and one opens the door. "Tell the Chief Gaoler we have bandits to jail. Throw them in the lower cells."

A guard lets the Captain in, and Ryan looks up from his papers. "I hear you are here with young William Tyrell, the Dawn Raider's son?"

"That would be true." The man bows,"I am Ser Georth Tyrell. I was sent here to deliver they boy and his friend who I hope you will also allow to live here as well. He may not have to be squired but as long William has someone with him."

Ryan nods and thinks for a second. "A friend? And who he be, Ser Georth?"

"His name is Kebra Hunt. The boys meet awhile ago and have become friends. They are of the same age and Lord Tallahar wishes them to train together."

Ryan nods again. "Yes, I see.... The reason I wondered it Tytos has recently been raised to Captain of Lord Warren's guard, and currently has no Squire. Mind you, he's no knight himself, but he is of the same level of skill."

"Very well then that sounds good. Also have you heard about William's Direwolf."

Ryan slowly nods, seemingly immersed in his papers. "Yes, of course. Oh, wait, Direwolf you say?" Ryan looks up at Gearth. "It will cause problems, yes... So long as the boy raises it correctly. If that beast does any harm, it will be put down. I will have no accidents in my castle."

"Yes I understand William knows how to control that thing." Ser Georth stands, "Thank you Blackwood."
