"Your father's tower house sits on the bank of the Green Fork, if I recall correctly, several leagues south of the Twins. I've never been there myself, but the steward can provide you with a map if you need one."
Ryan looks at Odo with an expression bordering on incredulity as Odo mentions Horas. He is clearly wondering how anyone's fondest memories could be of Horas Blackwood.
"Yes, well, Horas is in King's Landing as well. I understand news travels slowly in the North, but he's on the Small Council now. The King's Master of Whisperers."

Odo smiles cunningly and looks at Leobald. They nod at each other and stand. "I thank you for your time, cousin. Now, I must ask your leave, and ride immediately for my new lands. I shall reorganize the folk and the towerhouse, and put the men into training. You never know when we might need a militia."
And like a phantom into the night, Odo vanished, as a raven into the darkness.

Tytos is escorted into the Solar, and stands in front of the lord. "Hello, M'Lord. I am Tytos Rivers, bastard of Francis Blackwood."

Warren sits in council with an older, fierce looking man when Tytos arrives. He breaks off the discussion when Tytos enters, rises from his chair and offers his hand to shake.
"Then you are kin of mine," Warren says, "Though I confess I have never heard your name, nor have I heard Francis speak of you. Do you have any proof of your heritage?"

"I actually do believe...." Tytos searches through his pockets, and pulls out an old ring. "My mother used to tell me she was given this ring by my father, Francis when he told her he loved her. A week later, he told her he did not want her around anymore. But whether it is really his or not, I wouldn't know." Tytos handed Warren the old ring.

Warren examines the ring carefully.
"This is the Blackwood crest," he says after a moment of inspection. "It could have come to your hands by any number of means, but I'm inclined to believe you. Sit down," Warren drops the formal tone and seats himself in a large armchair.
"This man," Warren gestures to the other man in the room, "Is Lord Tristane Ryger. I'm sure you know who I am. What brings you back to Raventree Hall, Tytos?"

"Well, Warren, I will have to tell my story." Tytos sighed, and began. "Soon after my father told my mother to leave, she left with me to the free cities. There she was raped and murdered mere days after we arrived, and I roamed the streets of Braavos for a time. I was taken in by a sellsword who became my foster father. I went with him throughout the free cities, and by the age of 13 I even took on some of my own small jobs. But, he was killed on a job last year. I didn't know what to do, so I came back to where I was born. Raventree Hall." Tytos looked at the ground and sighed, then looked back up at Warren.

Warren nods once. "Can you handle a blade?" he asks, "Do you know anything of commanding men?"

"Ay, I am quite good with a long sword. But, I fear I do not know much about commanding men, but I am known to be a fast learner. Whatever jobs you would have me do, if any, I will gladly and willingly take up." Tytos said.

Warren exchanges a glance with Tristane Ryger. After a moment, the latter nods slightly.
"Lord Ryger and I were discussing plans for forming a group of disciplined soldiers to patrol the Riverlands before you arrived. We have the beginnings of one with the Bridge Guard, but I want to expand it farther. It will be an organization dedicated to keeping peace and order within our borders, with the ability to strike decisively at anyone who threatens us. But I need able men to act as captains in the guard. You sound promising."

Tytos takes on a big grin, and almost laughs. "Thank You Lord Warren! I would be more then happy to take up the job. I will start working on my leadership skills right away!" Tytos said, still smiling. Finally, a ray of sunlight has peeked through the curtain of clouds called my future! he thought. Captain of a guard, what a day! The old gods have truly shined upon me!

Warren laughs good-naturedly. "Don't get ahead of yourself, Tytos. You are my kin, and you seem capable enough, but I do not know you. Lord Ryger will be the commander of the guard, and you will serve him for now. You will be given your own command when he judges you ready."
Tristane Ryger sizes Tytos up much like a hawk would a mouse before devouring it.

"Of course, I would expect nothing less. Now then, if you would give me leave, I would like to go to the training yard and practice my swordplay" Tytos said, bowing and getting ready to step out of the room.

"Of course," Warren says, dismissing Tytos.
