Constructed before the Conquest by King Harren the Black, Harrenhal is larger and stronger than any other stronghold, with high walls and forbidding towers that nevertheless were burned by the dragons of Aegon and his sisters. The massive castle sits on the shore of the lake known as Gods Eye, and consists of five massive towers and an equally monstrous curtain wall. Its walls are incredibly thick and its rooms are built on a scale that would be more comfortable for giants than for humans.

The Falcon Lord's men now occupy Harrenhal, and bury their dead outside the walls. Lord Grafton rides hard to join them, for they will move in the morning to reinforce Raventree.

"Is your brother all right?" Aranya panted as she and Selwyn walked into the main keep. "I couldn't see properly in all the confusion."

"He was hustled off to that far tower shortly after the fighting. I saw blood drip from his han-, er, stump. Gower was saying that he tried to open the gate with his severed arm. I have not disturbed him yet," Selwyn replied. "It was a mistake for us to come here. We are putting the child in danger."
"Though, to watch you fight, I was frightened, but it was beautiful to watch, to see you move."

"I forgot about the weight, I was just thinking about how they were attacking my baby," Aranya hissed. "And I was frightened for you. You didn't leave my side the whole time, but you should have."

"Should have? And then watch them cut you down from behind? You needed me there. Especially when Robett died, and it was just the two of us by the tower stairs," Selwyn says. "I would never have taken a step from your side."
"Afterall, your teats are finally starting to swell with the baby. That's why I keep you around."

Ser Galwyn Fell emerges from a castle tower and calls for Rhodri's closest men to come forward. "Get what rest you can, dogs, for we ride again in the morning. Raventree Hall is under threat. Lord Grafton will join us, but we go to slay Bracken the Brooding. Lord Rhodri will lead us."

Lord Dominic Grafton's lead horsemen start to arrive at Harrenhal. At the front is the boisterous Lord Jon Royce, a fearsome swordsman and notorious troublemaker. He had spent his youth traveling the Iron Islands and picked up their casual attitude towards danger and death, and made his name wildly charging the mountain clans.
Lord Jon is immediately shown to Rhodri, and they confer in private. When Jon emerges, he is wearing the Bronze Plate of House Royce, and commandeers some men. He leaves for King's Landing, where he will serve as his cousin's voice until Lord Rhodri can return.

Aranya pulled Selwyn against her and began kissing him, ignoring Ser Galwyn and Jon Royce. "How frustrating to not have you to myself for a short while."

"I'm sure we can find an empty tower my dear. It will need to be large, though, to fit your belly," and with that Selwyn pulls Aranya by the hand into an empty stone building.

Without even waiting for Selwyn to properly close the door and lock it, Aranya pulled him down on top of her.

It was awkward, with the belly in the way. But Selwyn made a go of it. At least this time he didn't have to worry about leaving her with child.

Afterwards, when Aranya was calmer and well satisfied, her battle lust quenched, she said, "I'm sorry about your squire. Robbett? He was a sweet boy." She wondered about Robbett's mother.

"Aye, he was a good lad. He was squire to Ser Jaime Grafton, who died in the fight at King's Landing. He was the first squire I had ever bothered to take into my service, and our first fight and he dies. I don't know if I'll take another." Selwyn is a bit discomfited talking about death so soon after lovemaking, but with Aranya, subjects could change swiftly.
"You'll have to remain here when we ride for Raventree Hall. There will be fighting. And if Aerie Blackwood is there, I surely don't want you seeing her again."
