"No not all ways. But often a Lord or a wise general would make a battle plan that is stupid and his lords not wishing to offend him do not voice there dislike of the plan. That is all I am saying." Nathan then bows to Roose and steps back into a dark corner.

"Obviously you haven't been in the north too long ser, or you would know that a northern lord always takes advice. Besides," he gestured to the map, "do you see me making the plan? I'm learning here, I have some experience in skirmishes in the North, and from learning from Benjen Stark, but I am still a wolf unblooded." Several of the northern lords shook their heads good naturedly, smiling to themselves.

Sylas was arguing with the other commanders. "Static defenses are a testament to human stupidity. We do not need to storm the damn castles, when all their livestock and all their peasants live around it. Attack the peasantry feed off the food they have stored and send them rushing toward the castles to overpopulate them."

For one of the few times in the planning meeting Roose spoke up, "that may not be necessary."

"Just like a Bolton to want to burn and kill innocent people. Do you want to be liberators of destroyers. If you follow his plan the realm will hate and never allow you too rule any area of land."

"We're not following that plan." He looked sharply at Nathan. "Though if you keep insulting men of a higher position I might just make an exception for Honeyholt."

Sylas merely looked up at the knight, undaunted. "We are not liberators, we are soldiers. If you do not wish to get your hands dirty then a knight was a poor choice of occupation."

"Oh I will fight. I am just say that the flaw in that plan is you would turn the small folk against you."

"Yes, their small folk. We push them to flood the cities to speed up the seiges. We destroy their supplies so hopefully if we do loose we take them with us in winter."

"And what do you think this plan would do for your Lords image. He would not seem as a great Hero he would be a burner and murderer. You must win the people's trust. Then you will win the Lords trust."

Sylas shrugged. "Then send me under other banners."

Nathan shakes his head and falls silent. A few people close might be able to hear his mumblings about being surrounded by idiots.

"Do you have a strategy to consider Ser Nathan?" Sylas asked.

"Yes I do. To win this liberation of the realm you must have allies. When you first march the first lord you come across must welcome you not throw you out. That means we must get Lord Frey on our side. After that Lord Mallister would also help. About the Vale you would never take the place through Siege so you must try to win some lords to claim that Rhodri Arryn and the Royce's are unfit to rule. All you must do is slowly advance down gaining support where you can. If the Lords support you and the Small folk support you. Your army will eat and it will win."

"The lords below us support Horas. Do you think we have not tried to send messages to Lord Frey? He is at the camp in King's Landing now trying to fight for him."
