"Oh no!" Alla grinned. "I'm going to go freeze my ass off in the Dreadfort. Let's just hope my husband knows how to warm my bed, right?"

Roland let out a deep laugh, "Now now, Alla. I will not be needing the details of your marriage bed!"

"You won't get them," Alla teased, winking at Roland. "But if you were only there for my wedding party, you could participated in the bedding ceremony. Too bad Roland prefers fighting wars instead."

Roland blushed deeply, and he stammered, "Er... yes, Alla. Duty comes before pleasure."

Alla laughed and clapped him on the back. Though a comely enough girl, she was very tall and athletic and strong. "You can't be the Knight of the Gate forever. You don't seem like a confirmed bachelor. We'll need to find you a wife one day, and then duty will be pleasure, right?" She smiled and mounted her horse again. "And now, I'd better be a dutiful bride."

Roland recovered... a little. "Yes, I can only hope I will find love, Lady Alla." With that he was back to business and nodded. "Let me fetch Ser Daven, he will escort you to the Gates of the Moon."
Roland knew where to look and found Daven enjoying a drink with a couple of the men he'd fought against the Moon Brothers. "Daven, please gather an honor guard and escort Alla Hunter to the Gates of the Moon."
Daven drained his mug and nodded. "No rest for the weary, eh boys? Come gentlemen, a beautiful woman needs our protection."
Roland grimaced inwardly. I hope he isn't too drunk. He returned with Daven and four men he'd chosen and made his farewells to Alla before returning to the keep.

Alla Hunter greeted Ser Daven cheerfully, bade Roland farewell, and then rode on to the Gates of the Moon with Ser Daven and the honor guard.

Lord Pryor found Ser Roland in his solar. "Ser Roland, the last elements of the army will ride within the next day. It is time for you to depart."
Roland nodded and stood, "Then I shall take my leave, milord"
Roland gathered Ser Daven, who for once wasn't drinking, but sparring with the Hillfox. "It is time to ride, gentlemen. Daven, I would like you to command the flanking outriders. You will have 100 men. Ser Hoyle, please manage the rear-guard, you will have 50 horse. I will command the front of the army with the remaining two-hundred and fifty. I will fill the skirmish role and preceed the army."
Within an hour, Daven's men departed the Bloody Gate and immediately broke up into small groups of 3-10 riders and began combing the woods surrounding the road into the Gate. Two hours later, Ser Roland rode out at the head of a column of light horse riding in close order, three-wide.

Once the outriders departed, Lord Quinn Wydman pulled together the forces of heavy foot and archers and set out. Egan and Pryor led the companies of lancers.

The snow storm that had hit the North with a fury now spreads and starts moving further south. Heavy flakes blanket the world, creating white out conditions. A bitter cold cuts through clothing and skin.
