"As long as the good lord buys, I will be there with bells on. As soon as my Lord destroys the hordes of invaders he is going to go to King's Landing to get his son. So I will be in the vicinity." Piers chuckles.
"I do love plums. They make a man feel young. That was the only piece of wisdom my father ever bestowed upon me."

"That reminds my of a saying I heard once, 'young and cunning now, old and wise later.'"

Once again, Lord Rhodri Royce and his company of stalwart men find themselves upon the Sea Road, traveling to Casterly Rock. This time, however, they go not to join battle but rather to join a tournament. Rhodri's contingent contains many veterans of the Battle of Casterly Rock, proud of their place in history.

Addam, still devastated at the cancellation of the Melee following the sacking of Sunspear, trots along forlornly, hoping that the Redfort brothers can help him again at Casterly Rock. At the thought of their destination, Addam brightens up at the thought of seeing the great city.

OOC: Reading the previous posts, this feels weird
Garrett helped set up camp for the night when the party halted along the Sea Road. They had ridden hard all day, and were very close to Oldtown. As he personally raised Ser Donal's tent, Garrett reflected that once he would have been excited to see the Citadel.

ooc: yeah odd isn't it?
Donal sat by the campfire, brooding. He tried to stare into the flame and receive a vision, as Gisella had taught him. Surely he could decipher their hidden meanings to prevent such a tragedy from happening again?

Garrett approached the campfire. "May I sit, my lord?"

Donal glanced up at Garrett, slightly annoyed at being disturbed. "As you wish, ser. Have you had the chance of making the acquantaince of the new Lord Hightower? A far different beast to his lord father, is he not?"

"Young Robert?" Garrett took a seat on the log by the fire. "I have not spoken to him. Different from his father, aye - like a kitten to a tiger." It reminded him of Addam and Kid Death.

Donal nodded "Aye he is, and be grateful for that. The realm does not need another despot like Luceon Hightower. We have that in abundance already" he said, sourly.

"There are many men like Luceon Hightower," Garrett agreed. "And perhaps women too." He thought of his cousin Lady Elane. She was not sadistic like Lord Hightower was, and he had grown fond of her despite himself, but it was still hard to remember what she had done to his family, and how she had threatened his aunt - her own mother.
After a moment, Garrett said, "The people to watch out for, my lords, are the ones who will stop at nothing for their family's honor. Men and women. My cousin."

Donal glanced up at Garrett in surprise "Lady Elane you mean? I had thought the Spider to be the one to be wary of in that family. Elane appears harmless, if a little too quick to play the swooning maid to achieve her ends."

Garrett looked uncomfortable. "Elane is my cousin, and I have great regard for her. She's sweet and genuinely likes to be friendly...but she's the reason why three of the Houses supporting the Baratheons withdrew during the war, ser. Including my own family. She guards her family like a mother guarding her children, and there is no one more dangerous than a mother who fears for her children."
Garrett felt almost like a traitor, but then he remembered what Elane did to her mother. "She's harder than she looks, my lord."

Donal looked troubled "I was not aware she played such a large part. I was in the Free Cities when the war began and by the time I had returned, our House had already bent the knee." Donal said sourly "It bothers me still that Gathor was caught so unawares. So Elane had a hand in the capture and use of his daughter as hostage?"
